Ok, if anyone wants to know bout the Kalac/Abbiati deal;

Kalac is officially Milan's
MILANO - L'A.C.Milan comunica, dopo le visite mediche sostenute dal portiere, di aver raggiunto con Zeljko Kalac un accordo formalizzato da un contratto fino al 30 giugno 2008.

Well about Abbiati there are many theories (his previous deal failed to go through)

1) He might be used as part of a deal to get Cassano for Milan
2) He might go to Palermo / Siena

We could always do a six month loan? Has Abbiati gone yet - or is there still trouble with his transfer?

He had gone to Genao but that deal may be cancelled if they stay in C1.

Thats a joke. So what then, buffon recovers in 2 months afterwards and Hildrebrand sits on the bench the rest of the season?

Agreed. IMO we need to buy someone thats already a backup keeper.

He won't go to Roma, as they've already stated they intend to play Curci, and he's probably the best young keeper in Italy, and Palermo already have Gualdarben who's been called to the NT and played well for them last season. I'm not sure baout Siena tho.

Two months out for Buffon? Monday 15 August, 2005

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Juventus and Italy may be without goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon for the next two months because of injury.

The shot-stopper, regarded as the best in the world, suffered a shoulder problem after clashing with Milan’s Kaka during the 2-1 Trofeo Berlusconi defeat last night.

Buffon did seem in some pain and reports on Monday claim that he will be sidelined for at least a month and could be out for as long as eight weeks.

The former Parma No 1 will therefore miss the Italian Super Cup game against Inter on August 20 at the Stadio Delle Alpi.

He’s also likely to miss the start of his club’s Scudetto and Champions League campaigns, even if the outfit have so far not made an official announcement regarding Buffon’s likely comeback date.

Buffon has already been ruled out of Wednesday’s friendly in Ireland and will probably also miss out on the September World Cup qualifiers against Scotland and Belarus.

Juventus may now opt to move on the transfer market seeing as they only have Antonio Chimenti as back-up in Turin.

Some whispers suggest that they may sign Milan’s Dimitrios Eleftheropoulos, who could be released for free after the capture of Zeljko Kalac on Friday.

On the international scene, Udinese’s Morgan De Sanctis could be handed the blue jersey for a few months.

However, Monaco’s Flavio Roma, Matteo Guardalben of Palermo and Lazio veteran Angelo Peruzzi are also options

We should go for Pagliuca or Antonioli on loan for 6 months.
Pagliuca will be ideal short-term replacement for Gigi.
But he has no intention to leave Bologna.
I've read his latest interview in which Pagliuca stated that he will stay with Bologna even in Serie B. Maybe Moggi will be able to convince him to move to Turin.

Dudek ? Just to piss Sheva off :)
 That'd actually be a really good wind-up. Then again, it could really backfire on us when Sheva goes nuts and scores a hat-trick :sob:

I wonder if Chelsea would loan us Cudicini. He's definitely one of the best back up keepers in world football and even though he would eventually lose his place in the starting lineup when Buffon returned I'm sure he wouldn't mind a couple months of first team action as that is more than he's going to get in London unless Cech suffers an injury. Other options are Pagliuca, Antonioli and Abbiati.

Insn't Dudek out for 3 months?
He's certainly out for quite a time, not sure the length. Cudicini has got to be option #1 here. He's getting zero playing time despite being the best 'keeper in the premiership, plus he's italian! Surely he'd want to come and surely Chelsea wouldn't stand in his way either.
