Your friend's friend can install Windows 8 Enterprise trial version & then upgrade it to Windows 8 Pro & dual boot it with Win 7 although the Win 7 might be deactivated.

The microsoft website says the trial version cannot be upgraded.

any 'tips' for 8.1? I installed start8 to get back a normal desktop and start button but there is still the regular 8 desktop I can access and I have no idea what it's doing, probably updating and downloading all kinds of stuff I don't know about.
