First of all, welcome to the forums Urchins

As for my thoughts on the 20th anniversary of Heysel, i always knew that we would be drawn together this year for some reason, maybe its fate, that at such a distinctive time we should finally get togetherand show the world that England and Italy's most successful clubs and in my veiw the worlds most famous fans should show the world just how close our two clubs really are, the whole world will be tuning in i'm sure at Anfield and again at the Stadio Delle Alpi....I just hope that at both games both sets of supporters can be dignified and respectful to one another and remember those whose lives were tragically taken away 20 years ago, then i hope we can watch two fantastic games of football and my final message..........may the best team win!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

IMO it's a good thing that the first leg of the tie is in Anfield, because my feeling is that there is much more bitterness amongst Juventus fans, whilst many Liverpudlians are likely to have little to no knowledge/care of the the tragic events of Heysel.

I hope Liverpool and their fans put on a great display of respect for the victims, so any plans of violence or murder on the part of the fans will be reduced by the time the second leg in Turin comes around. I know it sounds naive to think that people will just drop their weapons and forget about avenging their fallen comrades, but a fitting memorial would IMO go a long way towards burying the hatchet between the two teams

I'm sure the Juve fans wouldn't be as bitter if Liverpool were to,say, lose the first leg via a couple of Dudek own goals ;)

Chinese superstitions say that what happens in dreams are the exact opposite of what will happen in real life,I wonder what's the opposite of a draw? ;)

.... the only thing that made me slightly angry is the total lack of respect that certain members have shown Liverpool and the way certain members seem to think that Juventus going through to the semi's is a fore gone conclusion and all they have to do is turn up, well i can assure you my friends that certainly won't be the case.
There are some here who think Juve just need to turn up, no dis-respect to Liverpool, they think that way no matter who we play. I think slowly, they are realising that it won't be as easy as they think. 2 Peaceful and exiting games will hopefully be the outcome.

The opposite of a draw is a draw

If Inter took the lead in the dream, Juve will take the lead in reality

Gray i'm not sure whether you know us(Scouse people) at all, because we are one of the most friendliest set of people in the UK, we dont forget things mate and certainly not something that ended in such tragic circumstances, for us that was there that night will never be forgotten as in the case of Hillsborough also, not to be associated though as one was through crowd violence and the other through Police neglegence.

What my point is, is that you said you hope the Liverpool fans will put a great display of respect for the victims, this is one thing you can be sure of at Anfield, Anfield is steeped in tradition and as we did for Olympiakos when the Kop did a mosiac to remember the greek fans who were killed the same will be done for Juventus, but with much more thought involved i have also heard there will be 2 minutes silence you can be sure this will be impecably held a few other things are being talked of, i know there is memorials, but that is nothing new many fans pay there respects to Heysel39 and Hillsborough96 every single year without fail, i know i'm one of them, one thing the Juventini can be assured of is that Liverpool fans will never ever forget my friend

Sorry, I didn't mean to paint all Liverpool fans with the same brush, but I visited many forums full of Reds fans after the Champions League draw to see their reactions, and literally 3 out of 5 of them were bolding articles that they'd pasted saying "Why, what happened in 1985?", while a lot of them knew all about Hillsborough.

I guess there's a big difference between the fans who attend the stadium and those who just follow their club from their computers, but I was appalled that such a significant event in a club's history had been forgotten just because the victims were foreign fans, and fewer of them died

My apologies again if my comment sounded like a shot at Liverpool fans; I've always respected the passion and loyalty of 'Pool supporters, and have great hopes for the memorial that LFC will show
