    May 28 updated:

Gazzetta dello Sport: Xabi Alonso's agent Iñaki Ibáñes and Jean-Claude Blanc had a meeting today. Rumours are the player will receive a four year contract worth €3.5 million per year. All there is remaining are the negotiations with Liverpool regarding the price. The asking price is €25 million, Juve are going to offer €18. Aquilani remains the alternative.

Tiago is now closer to Atlético Madrid than Tottenham or Manchester City.

Teleradiostereo: Giovinco's agent says his client will stay in Juventus. The team wants to keep him, there haven't been any contacts with other clubs and this is a big opportunity for Giovinco.

L'Equipe: Barcelona are once again chasing Trezeguet. His agent, Antonio Caliendo, says that this is something that has been going on for many years and there are troubles in Barca's attack because there is a possibility that Eto'o may leave. Juve don't even want to discuss a transfer of Trezeguet. :touched:

Tuttosport: Real Madrid challenge Juve in the hunt for Xabi Alonso. Juventus are to have a new meeting with agent Ibañes and then attempt to reach an agreement with Liverpool.

The Aquilani dream lives. The Iaquinta bid remains as long as [Aquilani] doesn't extend with Roma.

Fiorentina, especially Prandelli, are interested in Marchionni, who Juve don't have a great need for.

    Mercato: Zanetti forever loyal

    June 2

Radio Radio TV: Cristiano Zanetti's agent, Carlo Parravicino, confirms that Bayern München have shown interest in Zanetti after they lost out on Gattuso. However, Zanetti wants to end his carrier [with Juventus] and would want to extend his current contract which expires in 2010.

Sky: This is an important week for Juve's mercato. Ranieri wants four reinforcements. He wants to keep Trezeguet, but Barca's bid is very high. If he was to be sold then Quagliarella will be the replacement. :(

Xabi Alonso is still number one amongst midfielders. Tomorrow (Tuesday) Blanc will meet with agent of Xabi Alonso again. The price is said to be around €18 million where as Juve will offer 16 and Liverpool wants 20.

Unconfirmed sources say that two Italian teams have contacted Lyon for the purpose of bringing Grosso back to Italy. Juventus have been interested for a while and are believed to be one of the two clubs. Any deals are not expected before the Euro's.

Corriere dello Sport: Atlético Madrid, Tottenham, and Benfica are chasing Tiago, Olympiakos want Almiron whom Juventus want to give to Lazio for Stendardo, who in turn would be exchanged for Sampdoria's Campagnaro.

Tuttosport: Juve have a back-up plan if Xabi Alonso isn't attainable- Sulley Ali Muntari, Portsmouth.

La Stampa: Xabi Alonso has through his agent accepted Juve's bid. The deal is €3.5 million per year over four years, which is half a million more than what he makes now.

Regarding the price, Liverpool are not going to go under €20 million, while Juve in it's current state are not going to give more than 15-16. The sale of Almiron, Tiago, and most probably Palladino will increase their budget.

Blanc and Secco are working together in the mercato and if the Xabi Alonso deal is done then three out of four positions that needed to be reinforced are done. A defender (rb/lb) remains [to be purchased].

Corriere dello Sport: Roma have contacted Juve regarding Iaquinta. Any inclusion of Aquilani will not happen. If the deal goes through then Juve will replace Iaquinta with Huntelaar or Quagliarella. (Marchionni+ cash, but Udinese don't want to sell).

Gazzetta dello Sport: Raffaele Bianco and Rey Volpato are on their way to Bari. Almiron, Marchisio or Criscito could be let go to Lazio for Stendardo.

Roma won't give us Aquilani. I'm pretty certain about that.

We can't afford to buy Xabi at the price they're asking for though. Offloading Palladino AND Iaquinta? That'll leave us with DP, Trez and Hunterlaar/Quag up front? I think we should have 4 and not 3, taking into account injuries, off form and squad rotation etc since we're fighting for cl and serie a.

As it stands, our midfield consists of Camo, Marchionni, Zanetti, Tiago, Almiron, Sissoko, Nedved, Salihamidzic, Giovinco... marchisio ?

If we follow what is reportedly will happen:

Camo, Zanetti, Xabi, Sissoko, Nedved, Salihamidzic, Giovinco

    is this right?

If we sell both Palla and Iaq, we will sign another forward.
    Treze,DP,(dont forget) Amauri plus Hunter/ Cassano/ Quaq
    so we have 4!

If both Tiago and Marchio leave us, we will sign a new midfielder, i see someone like Mancini (trade with Iaq) or Maxi R. (trade with Tiago) coming...
