We need an additional MF because it clear Conte doesn't rate Pacienza. That would leave us with 3 starting MF position , covered just by Marrone alone. Having another MF with decent quality, would allow better coverage for injured players, rotation, and healthy competition which is important for a big team. Naingolan is already used to the league so at least he would not have problem to get used to the league, compared to buying players from outside the league and he is extremely versatile as he can play anywhere in the midfield 3 with ease.

i honestly don´t see the problem. we have 3 CM starting spots in our starting line-up. pirlo won´t be able to play every game, vidal and marchisio looked a little bit inconsistent over the last few games and will probably pick up some more yellow cards.
and he´s far from a 4th or 5th choice midfielder. during the last few games he probably would have walked into the starting line-up. it´s true that he would probably be 4th (far away from 5th) choice when all our CMs hit their form peak but it´s still absolutely necessary for an upcoming top team to have at least 4 great CMs for 3 spots + the very talented and promising marrone. also we have to remember that he´s only 23...
i agree that cagliari´s asking price is quite high but it´s january and he is a very promising player. i would rather slightly overpay now than get into a bidding war with milan in the summer or something stupid like that.
furthermore people should calm down a bit because of the immobile situation. of course i´m happy that he is doing well but it´s still seria B... nainggolan will offer pretty much assured quality right now in one of the most important season we´ve ever had. we must not fail this season and right now nainggolan will offer much more than immobile and the probably more talented marrone (who will still get some playing time hopefully) :)

Well said. He's a good player still young serie A experienced and suites Contes Type of player. Everyone needs a rest pnce and awhile and giacc isn't a central player and Marrone isn't enought to cover 3 spots. With the soon to depart pazienza niangolan I feel is quite essential especially if pazienza leaves.
