Some say they don't see eye to eye. Didn't somebody earlier post that Conte and Marrotta had disagreements over a few things at the start of our summer mercato? If true, I wouldn't be surprised. Conte's conditioned by winning, Marrotta is conditioned by surviving at a mid table club.
And that is a perfect combo IMO. Marotta will save the club money and not spend 24m on Diego and 24m on Melo...he knows better. Conte wants players that win and give there all, that's where his opinions to Marotta come in and its up to the DS to negotiate to get those players.

Well I don't mean the speculation that they've had disagreements with each other, but that they're finding quality to add to our team together.

It's hard to say if Conte gets the last word or not, I am sure he would love C.Ronaldo but the club just can't afford it. So both have to come to some kind of agreement with signing the right players that in our our budget at the moment. Marotta from this summer on has been fantastic, lagging in only selling the fringe players.

Conte I am positive has had a say in this, you can tell by the way the players fit perfectly into his tactics and heart of play.
Sure, its conjecture at this point about anther Conte will be given an option on requesting a new SD. But the point you're raising about getting players to fit the system, its not really about that. Conte is well aware of the budget, for the amount of money Marrotta has spent at Juve, we could've easily had Higuain and Nani in our ranks, and for all you know they are on Conte's list. But just the way we went from Aguero to Bucinic in the summer, we need to see that we don't miss out on the Goetzes of the world just because Marrotta is more comfy paying for the Gastons in Italy. I think this year will be extremely crucial from the point of view that DelPiero may retire apart from the fact that it marks our return to Europe as things are going. And we're going to need a game changer to fill some big boots. Which I don't know if Marrotta is capable of delivering irrespective of Conte's demands.

Exactly. It's no point in discussing it.
That makes no sense.

The goal this summer was to get the top 3 so we can play in the CL again.

We are top of the league pretty much since day 1, so I'd say thus far the team that Marotta & Conte have assembled have exceeded all our expectations, have they not?

This summer will be huge. If we manage to win the league, who knows, but that will be great. But the team we finish assembling this summer will be the one for the future IMO. The building blocks are right in place to build something great...I think this summer once we free up some wages for top class talent, the CL & Stadium revenue will allow us to bring 2 great players at least.

Marotta should never have been appointed in the first place. I hope we won't renew his contract. And don't start that bullshit about him doing well this year. He has done nothing good. The "good" players he got this year is anyway down to Conte. The money he has spent is SICK! And looking at it, the only to players that REALLY are good for the price is Vidal and Licht. The rest is bullshit.. Going from world class players to Vucinic etc is madness. Yeah we are not that rich, but we did spend alot. Anyway, I am very happy with Conte and the rest of the board. I hope Neddy or someone els will take over the job, when Marotta leaves (hopefully in the summer).

I think Marotta has done well working with Conte and getting the players Conte wants.

IMO Marotta's job isn't finding talent, rather his skills come at the negotiating table getting the players THAT THE COACH wants, rather what he wants.

With DN, I have no idea where that shit came from or who was at fault...I'm concerned with this year and that it seems that Conte has the balls to say what he wants and needs and leaves the business part to Marotta.

But that's the whole point Hust. Marrotta won't buy a Diego at 24m. He'll buy a Bonnucci and Martinez at 15 and 12. That doesn't necessarily bode much better for the club. The only edge he really has over Secco is in handing out contracts. That's where he's a little brainier, but for cracking deals and paying or overpaying for talent, they're both as bad. If Secco had Conte to guide him he'd do just as ok as Marrotta is appearing to do. Conte is the difference maker here because he's very set in his formations and the players he needs and wants to fir those ideas. And luckily for Marrotta he's not very high on superstars, though I feel if that were the case, Marrotta would struggle to deliver.

A team coming from 7th last season to 1st this season in Serie A is in no position to fire the Sporting Director.

PSG spent more than us, in a way weaker league and are not first.

if we make it to a top three finish Marotta should get his contract extended without a doubt.
This is a hypothetical discussion. Whatever happens from here, I think Marrotta will be renewed. However, he has never been a deserving candidate and has been completely out of his depth here. If it wasn't for Conte, he'd look a lot worse than Secco.
