If he would be anything similar to Douglas I would sign him right away.
He isnt though. Not even close. Honestly he has good qualities, able to play as a winger, SS or as a 9. He can receive the ball, create and finish. But I dont like his personality. Give me humble pro's who work hard. No semi rappers who brag about their money, massive red flag.

In his defense I dont know any specific moments where he caused problems, but he's more the kind of player who fits perfect at Napoli/Lyon level clubs. As said before, rather Raspadori than him, altough Zaniolo remains the dream.

Has he had behavior issues since revamping his career with Lyon and Barca or is this all just stuff from years ago when he was at United?

He was 20/21 at United and is about 28/29 now? Could have matured quite a bit during that period

writing two paragraphs about character and then finishing it off with “Zaniolo remains the dream” is so funny.

I guess we have a different sense of humor on this side of the world
do you not see the contradiction? Zaniolo has much more questionable character than Memphis. (for the record I don’t care about stuff like that unless they’re actual criminals, just pointing out the humor of your post)

Ah I didn’t realize that you ment that. Zaniolo had some problems with a girl who he made pregnant indeed. But his ceiling is twice as high than Depay’s, he supports Juve, is younger, etc. And he doesn’t presents himself to the world like this:

Do you think that it’s in our interests having players bragging about the millions they make and taking private jets?

guy has a life/hobby outside football, big deal. Does it get in the way of his primary career, and if so, how?

What a terrible guy

I rather don’t see players of the club getting associated with bragging about their millions.

As said earlier today, he’s notorious in his home country for having a horrible personality. Arriving like a true fashionista at the national team, rapping about things mentioned before. It says something that Barca is willing to release him for free, let’s not get it twisted here.

He might’ve done some charity work, good for him and really nice. But that isn’t the red line following him since he made his debut at PSV.

We probably think fundamentally different about this. In a way this discussion about his personality makes me remember Zlatan in his early days, he was so cocky, maybe arrogant better said, but he lived up to the expectations and besides the interviews and his flair he was just great. Depay is a bit cosi cosi, yes he has some qualities but we aren’t discussing a world beater here. One could say that Zlatan had a horrible personality back then, but he certainly proved the world wrong by the time that he was 28 like Depay is now.

Making music, dressing “nice” and liking cars and shiny things isn’t a character flaw, so yeah I guess we do think differently about this.
