That’s not horrible for a free transfer considering the tax break as well. Low risk low reward I guess.
If the wages remain in that area, I agree. Short contract so he will not become a burden, decent wages, and he has the talent and ability to play wide which we need right now with Chiesa out.

It could be a win win for both of us. He gets CL football to prove himself and fight for another decent contract and we get coverage where we are weak. He can also play the CF if needed.

They just signed Bentancur and Kulusevski, for over 60m combined. Imagine your reaction had we signed Perisic. Imagine if we paid 60m pounds for Richarlison. You’re so full of SHIT sometimes ffs.

Kulu has done well for them, and Bentancur is still better than Arturd and Fagiot in my book. Obviously, they overpaid, but that's Tootsie's MO. Richarlison is a superior player to this Dutch reject, but 60 million is ridiculous - these are EPL prices though.

Also, these are good signings for Spurs, a team that hasn't won shit in decades. As Juventus, we are obliged to be one of the best, not signing other team's rejects and hand-me-downs.

I mean Depay is hardly a reject. Barca is just trying to buy shinier toys than the ones they have. Depay wasn't awful for them last year.

And you're talking like we're signing somebody to 10m wages. If he's paid 5m wages and costs us zero transfer fee, this is good business regardless. Better than relying on Soule out wide. Or Jorge as our backup CF. Every squad needs rotational players and Depay (41 goals in the last two years) is a great rotational option. He's only 28, he can play LW/CF and a bit of RW. What's the problem?

Should we go for Frenkie De Jong too? Don’t Barca desperately need to get rid of him?
I mean, yes we should but Barca is desperate to get rid of him for a fee. They want his wages off the books and a transfer fee to register some profit.

Depay is clearly different, they're just trying to clear wages in his case.

How long until he ends up causing problems here?

He hasn't caused problems in teams since Man U.

Its more like he more he became CF as he got older, the lazier he got a bit in overall movement on the pitch. As winger he used to be all action. As CF he is more of a false 9 creative hovering around final third. So depends on what version of him you get in your tactics. His playstyle and position is bit similar to Neymars, but Neymar more mobile.

He doesnt really create disciplinary issues in his clubs for years. Just slightly inconsistent at times or not fully work out over whole season. Like he started out as Barcas best player last season, then they hired Xavi who just froze him out last months. So he went back to a forgotten figure again.

That Xavi guy seems like a real cunt.

His attitude. I just hope he's not expecting to come in and be a starter. A two-year contract on reduced wages and no transfer fee seems like a reasonable deal, but I just don't like the dude. We still have too many Pussyfags and not enough strong personalities - this cunt is more of the former, much less of the latter.

Honestly, he really hasn't been an issue since ManU. Even last year at Barca, Xavi froze him out of the squad and he caused no personality problems.

coming for free, 2 years contract. if that's the case, acceptable.

Yeah that's a steal. A rotation/depth attacker that can score, dribble, create, take set pieces well. For free transfer and 2 year contract and probably 5m a year.

For a broke club, this is a quite pragmatic solution to your lack of attack options.

Not really. He just wants his own players. Can't fault him for that.

I just think he is a Barca loyalist who has his VISION for a superior, elite Barca and he wants what he wants. Everything else is expendable. He was always a quieter, less flamboyant player (verbally), and I think his managerial style relays that. He is matter-of-fact, tells it like it is, and isn't interested in being "friends" with the players.

To Xavi, players are assets or instruments and that is all. Unless its a superstar like Neymar or Mbappe, he isn't going to placate them, he isn't going to ask them for their input, he will build the team he wants and who he wants will play. End of story.

Yeah he always seemed a little arrogant and ‘my football is better than yours’ kinda guy in interviews as a player.

Please STFU. This Dutch Abomination is hated, even by Dutch people. He's average, a failure at every big club he's played for, and he has that toxic primadonna personality, without actually being a top-tier player. If Dyala is a crybaby, this cunt is the epitome of a self-entitled mental midget manchild.
Fucking hell even Turk is more positive than you these days. Quite an accomplishment. :baus:
