is that the one with Zeta JOnes...

hmm..i dont agree with you about the effects part.. up untill now i dont think computer graphis and horror movies mix up very well.. they are more beautiful than scary...

thats why i like the old skool japanese Za Ringu more than The Ring..

Ah! ok. I wasn't talking about the scarriness of the movie.

Yes, it's more beautiful than scary. And you can't really compare "The Ring" to "The Haunting" actually cos they are totaly different breeds of ghost stories.

"The Ring" is a simple moive.... not much effects at all abut damn creepy and scary.

"The Haunting" is more like a faiy tale type ghost story, Theres lots of effects which are beautiful and the story is quite mild.

In fact that movie is very scary at all. I just think that the plot is kinda unique. At least... i haven't seen it anywhere else. So it makes a good story.

It's like..... whenyou come out of the cinima after watching "The Haunting" you're filled with awe.

When you leave after watching "The Ring" you're filled with........ the creeps!

These movies give you totally a different experience.

another good one is 13 Ghost... that film used cg with optimum effect..

and i dont compare The Ring with The Haunting.. i was comparing American 'The Ring' with the Japanese version ' Za Ringu '

If you've ever tried reading the book, it will drive you mad.

I managed to finish it, but I lost a little of my sanity in the process.

oh come on Serge, it's too late to make excuses for your behaviour now :groan:

:p
really? dang...

most books that had movies made out of them are a lot more extreme than the movie suggests e.g. the goriness of Jurassic Park and the graphic sex scenes in Forrest Gump
