The hand ball is just bad luck. He even tries to move his hand away in the 0.1 secs he has to react but it's not humanly possible to do so.

Otherwise he completely bludgeoned Milan all match.

Yeah he owned Milan pretty hard and stopped every promissing counter attack. But those hanballs are too frequent t: be down to just a bad luck.

His hand is at his side. It's not even a handball by the rules. It's bad luck the ball hits it and bad luck the ref calls it. It's not like he's chasing Higuain with his arms out is it? I don't know what he can do to avoid that situation. Maybe not even bother challenging like Bonucci?

Much better to judge his handball watching it over and over at x0.1 speed.

Anyway yeah, he was probably our best player for the majority of the game (Cancelo, Bentancur good too), which was just as well because we've got some tired looking players out there.

hes out of rhythm. the only time hes been good with us was last season, when he was playing week in week out. he needs to play much more, which obviously wont happen here. time to move on, brother
This, unfortunately. Didn't he also say himself that he needs to play regularly or he can't get into a rhythm or something?

Either way, time to start looking for replacements.

Thought he was tremendous, despite giving away that pen. Was unlucky in that situation, but typically it had to be him of course. He certainly is prone to having bad luck in those type of situations. But take nothing away from his stellar performance

Not entirely sure what he can do with his hand to avoid touching the ball given the distance from Higuain's touch. Ref's still haven't learnt to view replays in real time and factor in distance. Also not sure how it is different from Zapata's handball - unless it hit Zapata on the body elsewhere.

Apart from that and a bad clearance he was good and won just about everything he had to deal with.

He's too good to be on the bench. We could sell him for around 30m, would be better for both sides.
Yeah if we have three quality center back than one will have to sit the bench when barzagli is getting 3million euro contract with his legs gone than I can understand benatia frustration

No need to sell him. Chiellini, Bonucci and Benatia should get a lot of playing time. I have my doubts over Rugani though. Barzagli is pretty much done.

His handball was intentional. Stop making exuses for him. Our worst player in the first half. Made a bad foul in their half and put out his hand unnaturally for the penalty. Had luck the second half but MOTM is a heresy.

Is it bad luck when it happens again and again?

With Bonucci you run risk conceding through headers, and with Benatia you run risk of him giving away freekicks/penalties in and around the box due to clumsy tackles. Both have their flaws and are overall great CB's, but the popular notion that Benatia is something like the safe bet out of the two just isn't right imo. A brainfart is always around the corner.
