Lo Monaco: "Maxi with us until at least June"

"It is not true at all - nothing at all, Maxi at least until June rossazzurro remains. Only in the summer we will talk about the market for this very strong player "

This guy really reminds me of Amauri, he is just one season wonder in Catania when he saved them from relegation and Amauri for Palermo when they can stay on top of the table for short period in 06/07, both of his clubs in Sicilly, their hairs, their work rate but lack of end product, and especially if you look down their goal scoring record they not scoring much goal.. so please NO

Ever since Maxi Lopez started knocking in goals last season, I wished we would sign him as a depth player and possibly more if he performed. I'm so glad we've been linked with him because to many he's a virtual unknown but I've had the chance to watch him play more than once, this season and highlights of last season on a weekly basis.

He may not be scoring as much this season but his output has not dropped one bit. Unfortunately for Maxi people in Italy tend to judge based on goals not how much you contribute to the game. I'm sorry but Amauri doesn't contribute shit to the game and for those who consider him a build up player he can't pass that well, his dribbling is predictable and his pace is mediocre at best...(lets not even mention his lackluster finishing).

Maxi on the other hand does have blistering pace, great strength/balance, has a great eye for goal when supplied adequately and can dribble like no other. I really think adding him to our squad in January would add a spark to our squad that is much needed and his work rate is phenomenal. I'm actually glad he hasn't been scoring because his value would only increase if he continued in the same vein of form as last season.

I really believe in this guy and I'm willing to be scapegoated throughout this forum if he ends up being a flop because I think the true old Juve of Moggi would have signed him. We never signed super expensive big name players just those that showed glimpses of potential. Once placed into our system I really believe he will win all the fans over.

Check out the link below. He can score against big teams, in tight situations, presses defenders, scores a lot off of low crosses (suits Krasic perfectly) and can pull off some pretty fancy shots as well. He's the perfect January buy, you guys would be dreaming if you think any teams would be willing to sell super star players in a depreciated winter market compared to the longer summer market where there will evidently be more demand for a player.

The vid is a bit long but it'll give you a decent view of his capabilities if he's placed in a team where he can get decent supply (which we this season are not short of).

That over-head kick against Livorno was quite nice, furthermore he is a decent finisher but I'm still not convinced. There's probably a quite similar compliation of Iaquinta goals somewhere...
