In November 1985, Juventus provided their fans with an amazing show. The ‘Comunale’ in Turin hosted Roma: the side from Lazio was the Bianconeri’s top rival in the chase after the title. On the occasion of the tenth game, the Giallorossi were five points behind the table leaders Juventus, but they were tough and will show their tenacity later in the second leg of the season. However, they won’t be able to accomplish their recovery, because they will be defeated by visitors Lecce in the penultimate game, while Juve will beat Milan and clinch their 22nd Scudetto.
Referring to the clash occurred on 10 November 1985, the Bianconeri showed an undeniable brilliance: just after ten minutes, from a free kick, Platini found Mauro in the box who didn’t miss the goal. Following the temporary equalizer scored by Pruzzo from the spot, Laudrup overcame the Giallorossi’s defense after a series of passes with Serena, thus beating Tancreadi with a cross-shot just close to the post. And finally, Aldo Serena’s heel was decisive after a wonderful action started by Platini with a spectacular lob and continued with a ground level cross from Mauro. A first-class one-two, typical for a side which was top of the class.
