Good luck with that.

We'll loan him again next summer and again until his contract expires and he'll leave for free just like Melo.

How many here remember Martinez ? We kept loaning him out and now nobody knows what the hell happened to this guy. Same scenario
didnt we loan Melo last summer with an obligation to buy this summer? did they buy him finally?

Yeah,Gala was trying to rip us of by offering something like 4 mil.Anyway I think that we made something like 6 mil maximum of Melo.We bought him for 25 mil.We gave purple rats Zanetti valued around 8 mil, rest in cash.We were specialist that time for 25 mil.Bought also Amauri for 25 .Cash and Nocerino."Glory transfer days".

I'd say that was very debatable in your case, if you didn't know who Martinez was after 3 good years in Catania.

Some players flop at big clubs, for different reasons, time to suck it up now.
I had no idea who Martinez was as well.

And to be honest, I had no idea who Pereyra was either. Hope that doesn't turn out the same way.

Hardly noticed him, and yes I've watched Catania quiet a lot back then up until 12-13 season. Last season hardly watched any game for them.

Martinez was just another player in their squad back then. He's hardly someone who graps your attention.

I'd suggest watching more of other teams. I have no idea about particle physics either.
Not my fault there is no buzz around them. I have no time watching useless football games. You usually hear about interesting players on twitter, other football sites, rumors or impressive displays.

Romelu for example, I knew about.

I've been scratching my head here for a couple of minutes, then I got to this part and realised you were just making up your opinion of him.

I didn't watch much of Udinese last season, so I've not got a detailed opinion on Pereyra. Looks like a Juve type of player to me in his work ethic and versatility, and he played well against us in their games, but I couldn't tell you how he did for their whole season. Martinez on the other hand was a key player at Catania for three seasons, probably their best player for spells of that, and he had some high profile games against big teams (at the Massimino mostly). But then he was much more of the attacking focus than Pereyra ever will be.

I thought we went over the reasons for Martinez's failures, but of course €12m was too much for him at the time. We got suckered into paying that with Catania dangling him to other teams abroad, but there is always a bit of a premium from inside your own league.

By giving Melo on loan this year, we save money from his wages. So, a part of that 25m was recovered. BUT, i agree...the only good solution is sell with this type of guys-signings. Ziegler, Melo...De Ceglie all of them could give us some cash...even if we think that Zieglier was in WC squad, Melo had made a lot of good matches with Galata, etc.

And, you know, although highly unlikely, he may rediscover his past Udinese-form while playing for QPR. If then QPR doesn't excercise the purchase option, a good player will return to Juve, at age 27.

Wishful thinking, I know :D But well that's just the kind of guy I am.

Hello,Melo is sold and we got Ziegler for free ,so whatever we take from Ziegler is a plus.Although I think that Ziegler is not ours any more.

Kind of, there are still wages and bonuses (at least sign on bonuses) to consider. Then there is to consider all time and effort put in to scout negotiate sign and so on and then the issue of getting rid of stuff you don't want around. Sometimes that's easy and sometimes (Iaquinta etc) are far from easy or not even possible.

Yes, it's almost for free but we have so much crap we carry around to get like a kebab and a Sprite for when all costs vs gains are concluded.

From Melo we got around 7m by a loan and another.
Ziegler was bought for free but against Conte's will and in 2 years he never stayed in Juventus but always gone for free loan. So yes whatever we get from Ziegler (if he doesn't stay) is a plus.
