pepe is a right winger so he cannot play right wing back.
a most excellent point.

Isla is competing for a place in the starting formation
Pepe on the other hand, is an option if we'd go 4-3-3

We'll keep both. Hopefully, Isla can rise. An offensive option thats defensively solid, for those games where the opponent parks the bus (and licht is less effective), he'd be very interesting

Honestly believe Pepe is better defensively. Isla is a lightweight.
I agree. Isla is a cack defensively. He's easily lost there on the wing and his positioning is not good enough. He's not too fast too. The only thing I like about his is his crossing but it's not enough for a club like Juve.

If we can sell him for 7 - 7.5m I'd do it. Pepe and Padoin will be ahead of him anyway.

Then what made him one of, if not the best RWB in the league at Udinese? Anyway, seems likes he a goner. Marrotta met his agents today. He wants to go to Inter and they want him.

We can't keep a player that prefer go there and after all is not giving anything for the team.

I suspect it was style of play. Counter attacking can make a lot of players look great, for example, Krasic. I think Isla has the ability to cross but he plays at only one speed in possession which is harmful in attack. Lichtsteiner is not great technically at all but he knows when to push the throttle and when to play possession patiently and look for openings in a compact defense.

Isla seems to apply a countering technique even when in possession, opting to play a quick ball and make an off ball run straight into the defence when there really is no hope for a return pass. Also, he seems to lack any nuance around the box in terms of setting up a defender to put in a cross. He tries to just get to the line and cross.
