Lichtsteiner is a RB - and a pretty good one at that. Why he should all of the sudden be moved to centre back is beyond me.

Also, if anything, you'd play him in the middle as the two bookends (Barza and Chiellini) need to basically hold down the fort for the centre man that plays a bit more fluidly. Bonucci takes up that role currently because a.) he's a centre back, b.) he's not as composed or as positionally sound as the two bookends.

Marrone has done fine there because a.) he's awesome and b.) the position is more akin to a libero than anything we've seen in the past 20 years. He's also used to playing in the centre of the pitch (unlike, say, a fullback).

It's pretty fucking simple. Barzagli, Chiellini, Bonucci, Masi, Lucio/some late signing as centre backs. Marrone as middle cover and Caceres as right man cover. There's your central defense. Now let the backs be backs.

A RB in the 3-5-2 i mean, so Conte prefers a wing back that can defend properly and not only go forward.
He dismissed Krasic for that and for the same reason, i believe that he would prefer Asamoah to Giovinco there.
But in a 4-3-3, the right winger must be a serious offensive threat. Giovinco would be best used there, but Isla? I have doubts about it.

Ok, but it's a great addition. Remember, we play CL this year.

I also was surprised when he signed for us, but more depth is always a good thing.
I was being sarcastic there mate. Isla is my favorite Summer signing so far.

no, i mean i am glad that we got him too. but favoeite signing when he has yet to demonstrate anything for juventus is a little extreme. not hating, just sayin

So if we sign Messi, he can't be anyone's favorite signing until he plays at least 1 minute?

only in juventuz
straw man argument. messi is the best player in the world, and signing him would be always exciting. isla is a good player but is a player we signed when he was injured, and has yet to play and prove that he has recovered to form from his injury.
