His world cup was quite good though. He was a starter in a good Chile team. Based on this and only, I was expected to be able to offload him for around 10 mil at least.
lol u for real? he didnt have a standout world cup..certainly not anything special that can negate the bad taste of his onfield performances the year before...no one would pay that..and the lack of concrete interest shows this

that is what happens when you sign players for the bench and bunch of mediocrity like Marotta does, its impossible to get rid of them.

Although, Isla was actually a good player back then.

lol u saw what i read? Where did I say he was a stand out? I only said he was a starter in a good Chile team. And he was not bad actually. He was ok. Wasn't expect him to bring us crazy amounts. But I was thinking that this can make teams want him again. Only taking part in the world cup, makes your name been heard. Look how many players, unknown until before, got transferred after a decent world cup.

ok my bad..i saw sta and my brain played a game. yea chile was damn good but when money is to be spent, him just 'being a part of the team' isnt enough...look at aurier..he was damn good and wen for around 10mil... somehow i believe he can recapture his form in england tho...i gave up on isla as a player of juventus but i havent given up on him as a player

No worries. Isla couldn't star nowhere at any point. I don't think he is that kind of a player. When things gets shitty, he gets anxious and fucks up usually.

Isla had an OK world cup, nothing more. I hope i'm not the only one who seen a few of his vintage stupid moments I.E a sideways pass to nobody and losing track of the ball. It's just that when you don't give two shits about the team you're watching, you don't tend to pick up on all the little mistakes because you're not on the edge of your seat thinking about how badly he could've screwed us.

That's exactly why many of us were complaining about those deals, not only because we are focusing on the bench more than the starting lineup but because we won't be able to get rid of them afterwards. Waste of money that prevents us from buying established players that can improve our starting line up. This is why we end up hearing excuses like "we don't have money"....it's actually bullshit coming from Marotta fans.

Still can't get over us paying 18M for him in the first place when Licht proved to be an absolute beast. We literally spent more money on him than almost all of our starters.

Even if he was in his pre-injury Udinese form, wtf was the point. We had no left back or genuine wide players bar Pepe and we agree to a 2 year 18M payment plan for Licht competition

That was pretty strange. I guess we did need a backup but still.

Who in there right mind would pay 10m for isla, which must be what we want. One good year in england and we sell him to tottenham or liverpool for 20m
he had a decent enough world cup, yet marotta can't even flog the bastard

this is just going to be another case like melo's loaning out several times to the point his value is next to none. no fucking wonder we have no money, marotta hasn't sold anyone except immobile for a fucking profit to date! and even immobile was sold too cheaply according to most

Their value peak when they we sign them and then its all downhill from here. They spend so much time on our bench or having a small role(cuz they suck and have no business in being a big club like Juventus) that they end up being deemed as failures and teams obviously won't risk having them or spend money on them.

If you want a good bench and deeper squad, sign young players with lots of potential for growth.

It's probably a loan with an option to buy (but actually a true option, not an Udinese option which is = obligation) of probably around 8M.

So if he sucks we'll remain stuck with him and make no money. If he does well his value will increase and QPR will land him on a cheap.

This was de ideal time to ship the guy away for at least 7/8M.

Bad business.

I didnt understand this either. We needed a good nack up for Licht... but spending 18 mils on this injured mofo has been maybe the worst Marotta deal, tied with Martinez.

Whilei dont consider myself a dude from that society, i like to be thankful with marotta for his uber cheap deals like pogs etc. But this Isla deal always gets on my nerves. Was bullshid written all over it, since he begining. I remember when i saw the first games of this bastard.. peeps defending him because he was injured.
The funny thing is that until today, he has been always the same.
This man is terribad as an offensive winger/mid because he has the IQ of a monkey, and is crap as a RB because he cant defend for shid and keep concnetration( gaalatasaray at home? i still cant forget that ).

Like i said before... we need to stop buying this 25-27 y/o scrubs from serie A, who have already peaked and on around the 15 mils. Its a waste of money, specially if they are not proven to be good.

I can imagine them doing the same when we will struggle with selling the new bench we got this season.

8 M€ :lol2: :gsol: we don't have money :gsol:
Lets hope this season´s expensive dude Pereyra, doesnt turn to be another ISla. We seriously should stop buting players form those pricks in Udine. They are fukin ripping us a new one. Udineses is shid, all of them suck, why we need to be looking for expensive rejects in that shidhole? its unreal.
