Polak is way ahead of him IMO.

But even if you were right, I think it's silly to give 4-5mln for our back up GK.

Oh and btw, there's no way Perin is gonna be our main option. Ehn, unless we sell Polak.
Wouldn't mind us selling him. Our starter has to be Italian.

1) it's pretty pointless to buy a younger gk for a second keeper who will barely get minutes 2) we should invest the money elsewhere
Pointless for whom? Us or him? The club has never had an issue with the GK spot for 17 years. I won't fault them for trying to secure it with 2 potentially very good ones especiialy for these prices. You make fun of the club by believing random rumors of random players and then criticize the same club for having 2 top keepers fighting for the same spot after a legend like Buffon decided to part ways.

Both him and us imo. My point is that GKs don't really rotate and when we signed Polak it meant he's going to replace Gigi. Now that the time came, why should we chase another GK when there are so many flaws within the team?

Because we still need a second GK.

Perin as a 2nd GK is a no brainer. Honestly, how long have we been fans of this club and during that team when have we EVER had a weak 2nd GK to fall back on? Remember when Buffon had back problems years back and he was MIA for a while?

12m plus bonuses or whatever, still a great deal. As always, this club has a strong defense as the backbone of our team and it always started with the GK.

It's a reported 11+3/4million spread out over 3 years... Barely anything that budges the budget for a great insurance.

what if Szczesny gets injured and we have to start a "Karius" in a CL semifinal?

Those kinds of signings are not particular exciting, but definitely necessary. Imagine we don't sign a quality second GK and Woj tears his ACL in the fifth game of the season. We would be screwed. Bayern just had to play nearly a full season without Neuer (which arguably cost them the CL final), it's not unheard of to lose your Nr. 1 GK for a long period of time.

Great signing. Cheap, italian, nearing his prime and willing to accept a role as the second-keeper. Should definitely give him more minutes than a regular second gk, and since we'll be again fighting on all 3 fronts I doubt it will be a big problem. Buffon and Szczesny had approximately the same number of appearances this season and I doubt neither of them minded it (of course Buffon was injured for a while, but nevertheless).
