y, Woj has the edge as he's been here a year already and has played for bigger teams than Genoa, but I think Perin wouldn't come here to just sit behind his back and play Coppa games, he probably thinks he has a shot at claiming a starting spot with time

If we are going to push for a top player like SMS we can't afford to spend good money on cack like Darmian and Bonaventura or even 12-15m on a second gk. We don't need him right now so we could wait 1 year and get him for free.

Do you really want to go into the season with Audero or Consiglio as a second GK? Midfield should be reinforced of course, but imagine playing crucial CL game with Audero; it's going to be a disaster.

2nd GK is not a huge necessity but midfield is. A backup GK wont make a difference in CL but a quality midfield starter almost surely will

Perin is significantly better than both Marchetti (who is totally finished these days btw) and Mirante.

No idea why people are whinging about this potential signing. €15-20m for the best Italian keeper in Serie A, is a great deal. The trend for top clubs these days is to have two starting quality keepers in their ranks. Starting a potentially crucial CL game with Mirante, Marchetti or some other scrub would be a disaster.

Next season Allegri seems to have more says on tranfer targets. Before he always said let's buy good players, etc.. and he will put them on the field, now he talked about build and plan more. This tranfer is as good as done IMO and let's hope we have clear plan this time
