Caldara: Ready for Juve & Italy
By Football Italia staff

Juventus and Italy new boy Mattia Caldara has assured that he is ready to become a mainstay for club and country.

Caldara will join up with Juve for the first time later this summer, having been loaned back to Atalanta for the past 18 months, while the defender was recently given his first Italy call-up by new CT Roberto Mancini.

“Mancini wants a lot of presence where the ball is,” he said at a Press conference for the Azzurri’s friendlies against Saudi Arabia, France and Netherlands.

“He wants us to be tight and short, unlike Gasperini, who plays three at the back.

“The jump from Under 21s? I was lucky enough to play at the European [U21] Championship last season, and it was an important experience.

“There are many players who have made the jump. Many of us here are young and we know that we’ll have to give our best in order to take Italy back where they deserve to be.

“Now this call from the national team has arrived, and I’m proud of what I’m doing. My mentality has always been to grow daily. I’ll continue to do so, without stopping.

“Italy and Juve? I know these tasks will be difficult, but I want to show that I can carry them out. I want to learn a lot. I’m a lad who always tries to learn from the best.

“I’ll always guarantee my commitment on the pitch. Buffon? I’m sorry not to find him in the dressing room, but he’s a legend and he’s given so much to Italian football.”

solid game

regardless of this performance, unless jmedical destroys him, we have a reassuring solution for the next 10 years.

I can see him start right away for us.

Looked confident and imposed himself in the game. He's absolutely ready to play for a big team.
