Barca 'beat Juve to De Ligt'
By Football Italia staff

Barcelona reportedly ‘believe’ they will beat Juventus to Ajax defender Matthijs de Ligt with an offer of €60m plus bonuses.
According to Sport, Barca are aware of De Ligt’s ‘determination’ to join them and have subsequently stepped up their interest, also offering him a five-year contract with ‘a lot of objectives built in’.
Furthermore, the newspaper cites ‘sources close to the negotiations’ that state the transfer is ‘on track’ and the Catalans are ‘very optimistic’.
The Blaugrana have already completed a deal for his Ajax and Netherlands teammate Frenkie de Jong.
Juve, for their part, had seemingly set their sights on the 19-year-old but now may be forced to focus on the likes of Ruben Dias and Cristian Romero instead.

Dont know much about Romero but De Ligt is solid isnt slow as hell and quite strong physically - He does seems like the real deal..
So if Barcelona's €60m offer is real, and we would have to offer that much or more, would it be profitable considering he's 19? Or he's that good?

He is definitely worth it - You said it yourself he is 19 and he is already a very good defender (better than Rugani)

Hope he goes to Barca. Hopefully we ain't paying nothing close to a 100m for somebody in from the Eredivisie, especially defenders. That league makes players look better than they actually are.

Pretty sure this guy isn't coming here. So unlike Juventus to spend a lot on a kid from the Netherlands like that. Especially when we have a young CB in Italy we are likely to buy...

Close thread IMO.
