Judging by that video ,seems like someone who is pretty good at marking and positioning especially the latter..Also seems pretty decent on the ball too.

Even though video is pretty inconclusive ,i'd still rather have this guy over Bocchetti. It really wouldnt hurt to purchase an young upcoming talent would it over an average defender with not much room to grow...

Bocchetti can fuck off to Naples for all i care..I hope we arent linked to him again.lol

I've talked a little about him...

Tall, strong, fairly quick for his size, looks very mature for his age, very good mentality (no laziness nor big heading), good technique, solid, not mistake prone. His positioning is yet to be judged better, but looks at least decent and this can be improved with time. He just turned 18 and played in a high level here in the Brazilian league. The team he played in was top 7 here.

In few words, worthwhile 5M investment (that's what they say Botafogo wants for him). But players in Brazil are getting more and more expensive, so I'd say Botafogo will only sell for 7 or 8M. IMO also worthwhile. IMO he's capable of coming straight to the squad, doesn't need to be loaned out. And his ceilling is hard to tell. Could be huge.

Oh and if he's not sold right now, in one year he'll be worth around 10-12M I guess.

Fresh news from Brazil.

Juve is seriously interested. Both clubs have been talking for a while. First offer was of 4.5M. Refused. Second offer was 6M. Refused.

His release clause is of 12. His economic rights belong to Botafogo, a bank and a group of investors. The report says that Botafogo will only sell for 10M, because the player is still very young, is in Brazil u20 which will play the South American or World Cup competition in January and will have his price upped a lot. Actually it makes sense.

It's pretty fucking hard to buy real good prospects from Brazil nowadays. I'd say forget about this kid if this report is true and focus on this Neto guy, if he's really good. Or don't sign no one.

I mean, we have a ton o CBs in the youth ranks. Not even ONE is capable of being part of the first team squad, even temporarily? I've read that Rugani and Pol Garcia are doing pretty well in there.

Rugani and Masi are the most likely CBs to come through. Pol Garcia is being groomed as a left back, mostly.
If I'm not mistaken he is playing as a left CB.

There's no full backs in the youth ranks anymore... all them play in 3-5-2. That's why the U20 is struggling this year... they did pretty well last year using the most adequate scheme for the players. But now Baroni was forced to change to 3-5-2, and players are struggling to adapt. That's a pretty idiotic option IMO.

He does play DLC, or the WBL position. I think we'll see him as a left back once he is established, it suits his skill set more, from what I have seen. It all depends on what the first team is playing at the time.

I don't see anything wrong with having a uniform tactical set up through the youth ranks. In fact I am in favour of it. It's something Ajax and Barcelona have done for years, and they haven't done too badly from it.

Remember, it's not about getting results for the youth team, but developing players for the first team.
