@s4tch can correct me if I'm wrong with this but I understand that when you sell a player the total amount goes onto the balance sheet in turnover, even if it shows we are still owed, say, 30m out of 40m. This is why Juve sold Soulé and Huijsen. And as youth players it's mostly pure profit so looks great re amortisation. Iling and Barrenechea to Villa. Villa having to sell us Douglas Luiz by a certain accounting date and then spending the same amount on Onana a couple of weeks later. Their dodgy deals with Chelsea and Everton, all for the same reason.

“The truth is that Thiago wanted me to stay at Juve, he saw me very well in his plans and in his attack. But by now the decision of Juve had been taken: I was needed to make money, I accepted it and at that point I couldn’t wait to leave.
“I don’t regret anything of my experience at Juve where I was very well, just that unexpected goodbye in January.”
