Its sad that most of our fans cant figure out where our main weakness is and prefer to chase and sign high-profile and star players like Aguero, Higuain, Sanchez etc, other than concentrate on type of players we need the most. It is no mystery that even with the capture of Licht and Ziegler, we still have limited options in defense and with a longer injury of some key player at the back we will struggle again, and that in our case most of the times means losing stupid points vs weaker teams, points that at the end of the season can be very decisive. Dont get me wrong - I would love to have player like Aguero or Sanchez up front, but that would not mean much if we`re still shaky in defense, maybe we will score more goals, but we`ll continue to concede like a midtable team, which even with two 7th places in a row we are not.

We need another defender, a good one, which can challenge Chiellini and Bonucci for the starting CB spot, create some competition and make them play their best every game, not stay calm with the feeling that whatever they do on the pitch, they are sure starters in the next game. I am not happy with Barzagli as our 1st choice back-up CB, I think he is good enough to be 4th choice CB in our team for the next 2-3 even 4 years, but not to be the guy to save us when Giorgio or Leo is unavailable. I dont like the idea of keeping Sorensen as a back-up, the kid needs to play, and not in the Primavera, we must send him on loan to some Seria A team, not that co-own and selling shit, just a free loan, he can improve a lot more with playing official games for a weaker team than just participating in training sessions with Juve, no doubt about it. He`s got the potential, he needs experience and confidence, which he can get next season (or couple of seasons), if he develops the way we hope and expect and is ready to compete for the starting spot at Juve, he would be more than welcome to our first team, and if he`s not, then there are coaches and directors that shall decide his future.

Sign a damn defender first, then chase the cherry on the cake.
:blah: :blah: :blah: You are so full of shit! A defender rated for 8 million is definitely what we need. A world class signing indeed. Let's just add more shit to the pile. :weee:

Thing is, we need several different things. Maybe we dont need an attacker before other positions, but thing is, we absolutely NEED a world class player. Doesnt matter which position he plays, we need to show that we have the will, the ambition and that we arent done in top European football and so we can attract fans and good players in the future. For that we absolutely need Aguero more than a defender.

Is he better than both Bonnuci and Sorenson? Will he drastically improve our defense? Is he a defensive linchpin?

If ur answer to all of the above is No or maybe, and not a definitive YES, then he is shit in my book. No point in adding numbers. We already have quantity; we need quality!

close to 1.8m per year apparently.

and guys, relax a bit. They have the cash, they just don't want to pay 45m for Kun and maybe offer 30-35 for a player that could help us in the same way or a bit less.

Regardless, 6 or 8, that money can go towards Aguero, and we can give Sorensen a chance, instead of just farming him out to Bologna or Siena!
oh common you know that sorensen as good as he is, needs time for further refinement, in terms of his ability to stop the ball he is excellent, but definately needs to work on other aspects of his game. Silvestre on the other hand was far better than bonucci last season to say the least, whilst he already shits on barzagli. I think silvestre could be a very estute signing, and certainly an upgrade to any of our other defenders par chiellini.

Who might that player be? Rossi? No, thank you. I'm envious of other clubs, who actually give a shit about their image and their fans, and harbor ambitions, as well as wish to remain competitive.

Since I started watching Juve back in 94, I have never been more disappointed or disillusioned with a Juventus squad as I am right now.

    Description*:

For anyone who has not seen Catania much. This is their most reliable and best defender. He has been used all over the field in the past, but has settled into the right side CB this season. Only missing one game in the 08/09 campaign due to suspension. He often comes forward to challenge the entry passes into the Forwards, and is usually aware enough to get back into a defensive position. Has great header clearences, and works very hard to win balls back from whistle to whistle. His deep passes are very quality for a CB, and has top level technique for a CB. On his off days his overaggression will cause defensive problems if he doesn't time that entry pass defense well. Will result in either a foul or good scoring opportunties for their opponents. He is definitely a risk taker and when he has a bad match it is very noticable. Where on a more frequent good game he is efficient in shutting down entry passes, and gets counters started with his Long passes. Could possibly be considered for *Sliding in the future. He is actually really good in 1v1 situations, his only problems come when he gets over aggressive defensively.

lo zio: Silvestre is arguably the leader of the defensive line. All in all he's a good compromise between technique and physical strength (aswell as stovini, but so far silvestre has done much better than stovini, imo). Very good heading abilities, more than decent vision, and quite a good long pass accuracy (which is vital for their counters). I would never trade Silvestre with Bovo, but I wouldn't mind having him in my team either.

I'm not too familiar with Silvestre, but he sounds exactly the sort of defender Juve shouldn't buy.

Juve alread have Chiellini and Bonucci who are inclined to be too aggressive and go for the spectacular challenge/interception when they should really be playing it safe and staying goal side of the attacker and waiting for the right time to intervene.

A more composed player along the lines of Legrottaglie is what Juve should go for if they are going for a CB.

Seeing M. Silvestre in defense on the team sheet is enough to make anyone break into a cold sweat.

Enlighten me then oh wise one, almighty GURU Badass. The fact of the matter is, he could turn out to be another flop. Can you give me a definitive yes to all my questions? If not, then STFU!
read up retard, as i said before he is an upgrade to bonucci judging by last season's comparative performances, for instance, bonucci in a 1 on 1 situation just sticks out a leg and fouls the player, silvestre on the other hand tends to actually win the ball off the player.

and for your info anyone could f*cking turn into a flop, i don't care if its silvestre or lionel messi, you said the same f*cking shit about matri too, you were bashing him and the management, and look how he turned out, same with quagliarella aswell. For someone who has supposedly watched Juve for nearly 2 decades and has 0 comprehension of the game is quite staggering.

i bet back in the day you were bitch whining about the signings of montero, iuliano, Conte etc... too
