21 points out of 51 available in these “return” fixtures

Has to be one of our worst runs of all time surely…
With Maifredi in 91, largely considered to be our worst campaign of the last 35 years, we registered 5 wins, 5 draws and 7 losses in the 2nd half of the season - 15 points in 17 games, but that was when a win was worth 2 points, not 3. 15 points out of a possible 34 - if we adjust wins to equal 3 points, then that's 20 points out of a possible 51, so statistically, Failegri is worse.

Our worst run of form since 1956.

Another record broken :touched:

What did we do back then as a reaction?
We had three shit season in a row but in 1957 a young Umberto Agnelli went into rebuild mode - new coach (Broćič), keeper (Mattrell), splashed big on foreign stars Sivori and Charles, and young Bruno Nicolé. Boniperti moved back behind the new stars to play in AM and the "trio magico" was born and tactics focused on their quality.

And when the club failed to perform in the early versions of the European Cup changes were made for the coach, no one who failed had a long stint over future years.
