The main takeaway for me is that our backups aren't close to good enough. In this busy month we were looking to rotate the squad, but the truth is we can't afford to.
Our best 11 are capable of grinding out results, but any deviation is a disaster. Most of the kids just aren't ready or maybe aren't good enough, the older backups are either shite, lazy or finished. No depth anywhere. That we have Di Maria, Kostic and Chiesa as three good wingers is about the closest
Ironically the only position we do have genuine depth is GK, and even then most of us prefer the guy who is 2nd choice.
