3 years without challenging really cements the lowered expectations. We still went into this season with the objective of winning the title. Next season we won’t have that.
And if we exit the CL which now looks very likely, that takes us from being a big team that’s struggling for consistency in the league but could bounce back to team that is grateful to feature in CL at all and if they’re lucky they qualify to r16
We still have much more financial power and pull in the market to attract and afford big names and to do big mercatos with lots of new incoming players. That won’t be true if we drop out and have another 4th finish.
It’ll get increasingly harder to bounce back when we can’t make signings like Vlahovic and Di Maria anymore. Not to mention not being able to pay big salaries for top coaches. We’ll be back to trying with relative unknowns like Ferrara and Del Neri hoping we’d stumble into a Conte.

simple: if they sack inzaghi and would hire allegri for next season, and max would agree to join, then he can't do that without ending his juve contract.

Once you sign a great long-term contract it only makes sense to start being terrible so you get fired.
