I might be super naive but I believe that 2 new midfielders ( at least one of them world class) would significantly reduce the gap with these clubs like Chelsea. It's just pain to look at average jackasses like Rabiot and Bentancur. Not having these two and splashing money on some good midfielders would take us to another level.
You’re right. You are naive :p
But seriously we need more than midfield. Our full backs are atrocious, 2/3rd of our defense is ready for retirement, and our strikers are Watford level.

chelsea looked like freaking idiots untill tuchel Arrived! Had anyone said when lampard was fired they would win chl you would have told Them to shut up!

now everyone thinks Their players are world class, rece james, alonoso

freaking klopp made the kagawas, gotze etc, look like Zidane! Thats what world class coaches do, they make their players flourish!

Watch what Will happen with Liverpool when klopp leaves!
To be fair to max he revived lift ass cheeks career and we're past rigid systems that caters to mediocre players anyway now it's all about liquid football and free flowing (back to our own box that is)

The win against Chelsea wasn’t a good performance? They had 1 half chance the entire game. We created a half-dozen great chances and with better finishing probably win that one 3 or 4-0. That one was a great performance. This one was a shit performance.
You mean the game where we parked the bus the entire game? At Home?

not against prime barca! But aginst this team

- Alonso - Kovacic -Jorginho - azpilicueta

———— ziyech - havartz

————- Lukaku

73% ballpossesion Chelsea.

6 - 16 in attemps!

great performance? We won , and thats it! Look at that team! Seriously! Park the bus against Them? And you call that great??

We play defensive against everyone. I am sure if we play against the Primavera we will defend 1:null lead.

I’d choose my starting 11 by exclusion and take it from there.
something like no Rugani, no Sandro, no Ramsey, no Bentancur, no Rabiot, no Arthur and no Morata.
So I’d play:
Tek
Cuadrado-Bonucci-De Ligt-Pellegrini
Locatelli-Mckennie
Klusevski-Dybala-Chiesa
Kean
Waiting for Chiellini-MDS-Bernardeschi-Danilo to come back, Morata and Rabiot can come off the bench and in January we need urgent reinforcements.
Edit: I forgot Kaio, he should play a role as well maybe to rest Dybala and/or Kean.
I realize this team is not good enough but we need to kick out the numerous lazy bums we have and really start the rebuilding process, it might take a couple of years but we don’t have another choice.

Oh i forgot.. sassuolo, lazio, Napoli , milan, inter, Verona, fiorentina and roma are filled with world class midfielders!

If we had : De bruyne - Kante - veratti etc our approach would still be the same! Its beyond me you guys cant see it!

Have you questioned why we play defensively?

The answer is simply that we are not good enough in so many areas. Defensively we need to sit back to limit the space the opposition has, plus we are rebuilding from the zero organisation under Pirlo.

With the ball we have 1 midfielder capable of passing the ball (Locatelli) . What do you think will happen if we attack with players who can't pass (Rabiot, McKennie, Bentancur, Arthur) and we are set up in an attacking shape? It is very simple, we will lose the ball and be easily picked off on the break.

Our attackers are all suited to playing on a counter with space apart from Dybala. Morata, Kean, Kulu and even Chiesa get crowded out when we have to break teams down. So inviting teams onto us to create space when we win the ball back is an obvious solution.

The squad is horribly assembled with no plan. I still can't work out a formation that fits the squad. People moan about Rabiot playing and I don't rate him at all but we have no other options on the left of a midfield other than Berna and Ramsey (both injured and both unconvincing).

Let's not pretend that we would be playing like this every week if we had a better squad. We didn't first time round under Allegri so why now? It is damage limitation and trying to make something work out of a mess of a squad.

Today Chelsea played most of the match with freaking loftus cheek and jorginho in their central midfield! Lets give then bentacur and locatlli.
The outcome would be the same!

we have no freaking gameplan! Thats the difference!

Right, we don't have De Bruyne - Kante - Veratti, what we have is litteral horse shit.

So detached from reality, when all your midfielders constantly lose the ball you WILL be pinned back. The coach choices can be debated, but the problem today wasnt the approach in itself. You cant play tiki taka with this bunch.

yes when im optimist i Think like that! But then i remember how we played against tottenham at the allegri era! Samme approach better players! We didnt touch the ball in Two games. But won anyway.

allegri is defensive as hell - our current team is not the factor for his “park the bus” mentality! Allegri is the kind of coach that would bench 19 year Old mbappe for experienced Berna!!

The problem for me was starting with that many useless players (absences and CL list played a role), and playing with no width against a team exclusively relying on playing through the wings, we were kind of unlucky in the first half but we needed to change/correct the gameplan and withdraw a midfielder+Morata immediately, not wait and fail to anticipate the Cardiff-like collapse.

before tuchel nobody wanted him here! People were crying when sarri wanted him! Now he amazing agree!
Again, give good players a wq coach and he will soon look like a wq player!

put jorginho in our setup and he will look like shit!

seriously look at Chelsea team, its not world class! But their coach makes Them look like this! While ours make us look even worse!
