Best would be in the center of 4-3-3 like free role. With his speed and stamina would go from one side to another.

Last season 10 goals as RM, 7 as LM. 6 assists as LM, 3 as RM. Equal

And whenever you look at highlights and clips of his he looks equally good on both sides. Even if he is slightly better on the right playing on the left is hardly something terrible

And I don't have to make peace with anything because I am perfectly happy if he plays the rest of his career on the right. You’re looking at transfermrkt, a lot of those appearances where he allegedly started on the left, he actually was on the right. For example, Spezia game on March 2, where he scored a goal. Listed as a starter at LM on transfermrkt but spent no time there whatsoever. Benevento couple weeks later, same thing.
