strange that this comes hours after Deschamps has reiterated his willingness to take the Juve job... Something is up but I think a lot of us had suspected that this would be Allegri's last season. Problem is that will fuck our mercato up if we dont get clarity soon. I dont want us to spend the summer buying the wrong players whilst we are looking for a new manager

Sell Higgy for 60M before he declines and play Dybs as a false 9.
This. And buy Pogba back

Can't see it happening, I think he burnt his bridges with the management when he left. I just hope we dont end up with simone inzaghi or some shit like that. I really would like a manager who will bring a better mentality when it comes to the CL so Ancelotti sits fine with me and is the only Italian manager I'd consider right now to fit that bill, otherwise it'll have to be someone foreign and not deschamps

I agree that they're not good enough for the sacrifices we have to make to include both in the starting line-up.

I thought they do have some chemistry, but I looked into it and stats support you more than they do me, they indeed have little interaction between them. :D Higgy assisted Dybala against Spurs, Torino, Udinese and Dybala assisted Higgy against Milan, Napoli, Genoa. So thats 6 goals out of 44 those two have scored this season, pretty incredible, I don't think there's another pairing in Europe that assist each other only for ~14% of the goals they score :D
I take that to be more down to our offensive game plan than their individual talents. I'd be curious to see the ratio for similarly somewhat defensive teams like ATM, UTD or Chelsea.

That ratio doesnt strike me as too low tbh. What % of Ronaldo goals are assisted by Marcelo or by Benzema? Even at City I cant imagine more than 15% of Aguero and say Sane's goals are assisted by one another. Having two or 3 attackers doesnt automatically mean that a great % of their goals will be assisted by one another. Maybe they are setup to be fed by the midfield and/or fullbacks more than each other.

I dont recall many co-dependent partnerships like Trez and Ale were.

lucky in what sense? We're not talking about mancini here who has lived off throwing money at his problems. Ancelotti has European pedigree. We keep talking about making that next step, hiring inzaghi and gasperini is making 10 steps backs

Ancelotti was poor for Bayern, he might be in decline. I also don’t think he would want to come back here after what happened last time.

I'm not saying Ancelotti is my number 1 choice but if it had to be an Italian coach there's none better than him around. He is a proven cup manager we cannot be giving jobs to provincial unproven managers like inzaghi and gasperini

Can really see Max leaving this time.
For the replacement Deschamps and Inzaghi are good option. I myself would also consider Emery - he had some success in Europe and wouldnt really look at what he did at PSG as there seems to be to much pressure from the managment.
