Dude the team is not good enough to beat Real in any formation. Look at the midfield and defenders? It was over the moment we were drawn against them.
Well we didn't look like scoring all game at home

Real were nothing special tonight they were beatable tonight

This cautious approach will not beat the big teams it requires too many variables to go for you and when they don't go for you it blows up in our faces

The only thing that I can take umbrage with Allegri for this match was not starting Rugani instead of Barzagli. You just can't put a 37 year old out there among the Wolves.

Otherwise, his choice of players didn't bother me, as it reflected a more attacking Juve against Madrid.

Khedira-Bentancur were not the problems today. Far from it.

Everyone else around them were.

that and not playing 451 with double wings, are the only 2 mistakes i think

Khedira as much as i bash him is more of a safe choice than Marchisio.

And Bentancur.. again both our midfield players were among our better players so i have no idea why are you bashing his selections.
Safe choice? What does that mean, what's the risk in playing Marchisio other than him getting injured?

He is a better player than Khedira imo, but that doesn't matter cuz his preferred role is where Pjanic plays.

Yes Betancur played well as an individual today, we can say in hindsight, but the midfield was still lacking.

Besides it's not just about today. There are many times Marchisio can and should play (since Max loves to conserve energy so much) but he doesn't. Even when it's "safe" like in the Coppa Italia against fodder teams

Did you watch the game though?
Yes. Next question

Our club starting turning results around consistently and everything turned to gold this season when we switched from the 4231 to a 3 man midfield.

Doesn't it baffle anyone to see the result of a 2 man midfield AGAIN against the same team the took the CL from us last year when we did the same thing?

Our defense takes most of the blame today but Max certainly earned his criticism today.

It wouldnt have changed a thing IMO. Real would have still scored a couple of goals past us in the kind of form they were in. Infact they switched to 'Juve' mode as soon as they got that early goal.

The signs were there we never picked up form iin the CL like past seasons. We got battered by Barca then we were lucky to make it past tottenham and today got battered again.

There is no blame on Max. He's overachieving with this squad. He lost to a team wit significantly better players everywhere on pitch.

Marotta is to blame for this unbalanced, aging squad.

Even if you guys rolled with Matuidi, Marchisio, and Kedhira. I don't see the needed quality to best Real' s midfield.

That's exactly my point as well.

It took a combined weight of Vidal, Pogba, Pirlo and Marchiso (when he was world class) to beat them last time. Add Tevez who was an engine.

The 2014-15 team was just more balanced. It lacked the attacking depth of the current team but there were barely any weaknesses in the starting eleven.

This current starting eleven has many weaknesses and players who have declined with age. Delusional to think we would've come up with a similar performance as 3 years ago.

I think this will be it for Max.

Its not totally his fault since a lot of players played like shiet, but he seems to have lost his way in europe with this team too.

we are winning Serie A with junior class coach.
either way with no WC players (which is not going to happen) we are not winning in Europe with Allegri.. so better go with a new coach and who could try something new even if it is Inzaghi or whatever.

No more italian pragmatic coaches

That old italian defensive mentality needs to die out

Sarri and Acelotti are the only itsalan coaches I would be happy with

Still unsure of Inzaghi and would like to see him manage for a few more years before he took the Juve job
