Allegri: 'Juve are only human'
By Football Italia staff

Max Allegri admits Juventus didn’t match SPAL’s determination and “it’s only human to miss a beat and lack energy once in a while.”

The Bianconeri saw their 12-round winning streak grind to a halt and failed to find the net on their travels for the first time since visiting Barcelona’s Camp Nou in September.

The Coach didn’t even see the final whistle of the 0-0 draw, as when Alex Sandro lost the ball 20 seconds from time, Allegri stormed off down the tunnel.

“I am not angry or disappointed,” Allegri assured Mediaset Premium.

“SPAL fought hard, we compliment them, and we were coming off a series of wins. The positive thing tonight is that we kept a clean sheet and at the moment still have a five-point advantage.

“We have to learn from this for the games coming up against Crotone and Benevento, because they are fighting for their Serie A survival and we therefore need to face them with a different attitude.

“We have to be ready for any eventuality, it happened this evening, and we are still top of the table. When you don’t have enough mental energy, the opposition will win every 50-50 ball. That’s what happened tonight.

“SPAL deserve a lot of credit, they were very aggressive and made many fouls – 29 – to break up our game. The more the ball stays in play, the more the opposition is kept on their toes and not allowed time to take a breather.

“People expected us to drop points a couple of weeks ago against Lazio, we dropped them tonight, these things happen. Now we need some rest, because we are playing on three fronts and we need everyone.

“It’s only human that when you are top of the Serie A table, in the Champions League quarter-finals and the Coppa Italia Final, you can miss a beat and lack energy once in a while.”

Giorgio Chiellini limped off 10 minutes from time, but the Coach doesn’t believe it is serious.

“Chiellini has muscular fatigue, but at the moment we don’t have any more on that.”

In 1st place, through to CL quarters, in Coppa final. In the midst of 24 match unbeaten run in all competitions, 20 wins and 4 draws.

And people bashing Max and calling him an idiot and a clown because we drew a match before international break after a run of tough fixtures and fantastic results.

The team let their focus and concentration slip. Shit happens to every team a couple times a season.

4 months without a loss. Only 4 draws. Perhaps wait until we actually lose or get knocked out of something before crying like babies. :baus:

Really a sign of how good Max has been and still is. We are spoiled beyond belief.

We don’t lose in Italy because we have a way better squad than anyone else. Any competent coach would win Serie A with this team.

This game against SPAL was not a one-off, we were rubbish against Lazio and Tottenham. We just got lucky in those games. Today we didn’t get lucky.

In the CL, the writing is on the wall against Real Madrid unless we significantly improve our team play.

I said 4 months without a loss in all competitions. As in Serie A, Coppa, and yes, CL. Including knocking out the team that topped Real Madrid's group. All while dealing with half our attackers being injured at various points of the last 6 weeks and missing matches. What a clown you are. :lol2:

:agree:

Considering our "financial clout", our star player sales, and so on. The results he gets are absolutely brilliant. Extraordinary coach.

In the CL, we are undefeated in 7 games against Tottenham, Olympiacos, Sporting, and Barcelona at home. Barcelona took us so seriously that they benched Messi and played for a draw, and we still looked toothless.

Tottenham walked through us at Wembley. We were very lucky to win that game. A more clinical team would have ended the tie in the first 45 minutes.

We have had injuries to our forwards (injuries is something that happens to every team), but we have insane depth in attack. We have Higuain, Dybala, Costa, Bernardeschi, Cuadrado and Mandzukic.

Most teams in Serie A would die for a player of Bernardeschi’s quality, we have him on the bench in most games. That’s why I don’t consider our 4 month unbeaten run in Serie A to be particularly special or relevant.

I don’t just look at the result, I look at the way we play. We play like a bunch of individuals who have no idea how to attack like a team. That’s how we played against SPAL, and that’s how we played against Lazio. Dybala just didn’t save us this time.

29 games in and (on this form) we could still realistically break the 102 Serie A points record. Only reason there is even any question over our form at all it is that Nipples are also on course for a record breaking season.

Shut up.

Thankfully I don’t just look at results. I actually watch games.

We win most of our games because we have far better players than the opponent. We rarely play as a team.

That’s why, in games like the ones against Barcelona, where our individual talent was negated, we looked clueless and had no idea what to do.

I can already predict exactly how the game against Madrid will go. I doubt this guy will have learned from his mistakes. He doesn’t learn from his mistakes.

Given the squad that we have compared to the rest of Serie A, it would take a failure of enormous proportions not to win the title.

Some of us have slightly higher expectations.
What’s the expectation? Like it’s been mentioned we’re
on track for 100+ points and undefeated in CL knockout stages. And Tottenham was lucky?? last time I checked Juve was the team that missed a penalty to win the first game.

What do you want?

Would you rather play football like Napoli (be out of Coppa Italia, out of Europe, behind in Serie A and faltering) or play like Juve and still be in all of theses competitions and a dark horse in Europe and heavy favorites for the two Italian based ones?

If your answer is Napoli than why are you even supporting Juventus at all?

Then my question remains the same.

Why even be here? If you are "a fan of football first" then this clearly isn't the right team for you.

If he is not just looking at the results and actually watching the games like he said then he should be able to figure that out...

I am frustrated because I seriously believe that our team is capable of playing much better than what we currently are.

It’s perfectly possible to do both. Who made you believe that there is a negative correlation between good football and results? There is usually a positive correlation.
