which is exactly why we need to start incorporating our actual wingers in our game play
Yes well with our new signings Berna and Costa there is no excuse not to have a good counter attack.

We defend in large parts of games in our own half yet still never manage to muster a good counter attack consistently.

Sometimes Cuads will be able to do it but not enough times to see a pattern of good counter attacking play

That's because we always have on one side ONLY one creative player while the other side is, as the theory goes, "offers more defensively".

If we only attack on one side and expect the other side to defend that flank, its easy to figure us out. That's why I'm asking for Mario to play striker and actually use our wingers. That's what we spent 80m on and we insist on usually starting cuads then bring them on for 20 min runs here and there.

Mandzu plays on the left because he's good there, not just because of his work rate, but apparently some still haven't realized that.

He Must not be benched or moved up front just because we've spent €80m on two mediocre wingers.

Mandzu, Dybala, Cuads and Higgy offer more than enough on the counter as they've already shown before. Our problem is the defense and the midfield, focus on that.

Allegri will try to balance the team again since we suck at defending.

Watch us go back to 352 with Cuadrado as RWB and Higuain riding the bench.

Allegri is comfortably ahead of Ancelloti for me. Allegri is in a tough spot because Higuain is out of form but still has to play. And if he still has to play, your choices of formation are drastically limited.

Your ability to defend is compromised right from the start because of Higuain/Dybala playing together. They both offer nothing defensively, so you have to find a way to defend with 8 players which is rare already (the main reason Cuadrado plays so much - he runs as much as 2 players.)

It has to be said that for 2 years now, Marotta could have done a better job for Allegri. Nothing really fits naturally (although this year at least he bought wingers). The fact is Max made the CL finals twice with all different players and different formations. That's outstanding work.

If Allegri rests Alex Sandro, he's fucked. And he's fucked already at RB. And now he has an anchor stuck up top that cost 94m. And on top of it, the new Messi has missed consecutive penalties to cost 3 points outright.

No, he has to be benched. This Real Madrid logic "play the out of form scrubs because we overpaid for them" is a recipe for disaster.
