You really don't understand subtlety and nuance at all. Not in the slightest. I'm embarrassed for you.

Things are not black and white, although I can't say I'm surprised at this from you.
Offcourse, imagine you couldnt put a label, world would stop turning, wouldnt it.

So I guess Sturaro is far away form the starting 11 in this formation?

To be honest, don't care as long as we are winning and playing like we have been the last few rounds.
I cant see how he would fit in a 4231 before the other cm's

The first one that comes to mind is Asamoah over Pjanic in te first homegame against Sevilla. Then there is picking Sturaro over Lemina. Playing either Khedira or Sturaro in the role that Pogba had the year before. Benching Cuadrado in a lot of games in the start of the season even though he was performing. But the main issue was trying to force players into a formation that no longer was right for the squad.
1) We had issues with solidity so he wanted to put an extra layer and see if that worked in recovery. We created alot of chances but didnt score and got drew at the end

2) Lemina wasent solving the midfield issue that it was weak and Pjanic didnt work. So he tried the more physical option which makes sense, but Sturaro is just not good enough

3) Cuadrado was not as good as you claim, in fact everyone was desperate for the 4312 and didnt like the poor offensive output of cuadrado (and then he scored that goal)

4) We made 1 change in the 3-5-2 and suddenly "the formation isnt right for the squat". What a shit coach you'd be. You first try to mend it. If you cant mend it, you replace it.

Thats a questionable one. It was our 1st CL game and Pjanic was a new player. Not saying it was a correct decision, but Allegri did react and introduce both him and AS in the 2nd half.

Then there is picking Sturaro over Lemina.
Already responded to this but Sturaro was needed for his agressiveness and pressing in the 4312/4321. Lemina is a different type of CM and is competing with Khedira for playing time.

We never did that

Benching Cuadrado in a lot of games in the start of the season even though he was performing.
Dani Alves was our starting RWB and once we went 4312 Cuadrado was bound to be benched

But the main issue was trying to force players into a formation that no longer was right for the squad.
What was that? We started the season in 352, the formation we finished last season in. 10/11 starters were still here (+ Dani Alves) and as Pjanic struggled to fit in 1st at regista and then at mezzalla, we went 4312/4321. We went to 4312 to fit in Pjanic and Sturaro was needed to balance it out. Nothing forced

I'm happy he dumped the 4-3-1-2 which is a shit formation.

He also dropped the CM quotient from 3 to 2. Since we have no CMs, that was logical.

Well you should stop and start for the lead and financial reasons to be honest it grey but maybe also blue.

Good thing he finally realized it's a crime to keep players like Cuadrado on the bench at cost of wooden Sturaro.

I'm not a fan of 4312 as well, because your b2bs need to be extraordinary to make it work (like Pogba and Vidal). Good thing he found Mandzukic being useful in 4231, now you have no doubt we play our best players as starters and the effects are already there to be seen :)

Everyone on Tuz put Mandzukic down as a winger?
Mandzukic as winger and Dybala as AM, Pjanic as CM playing only with another CM, theres alot that would been seen as defensive shape risk with these change prior to witnessing them in their fullest glory. But instead not only has it been great offensively, it has been even better defensively because they are fully forced to work together at all times defensively more so then before. Just to prove its possible to play with that many attacking/creative players. I mean Pjanic is running nonstop FFS, thats just odd...

Could the two Belgian lovers just ignore each other for awhile. Thanks.

::lol3::

In the 2 serie a games since the switch, Lazio and Sassuolo, Pjanic has 7 tackles, 8 interceptions, 1 blocked shot, 1 clearance. 80 passes per match at 93%.

4-2-3-1 has turned him into a defensive beast, who is super-involved in the match. Super strange to watch. :weee:

Not only we are winning but we are also playing much better and creating tons of chances, with a little more concentration we could have easily scored a couple more goals in each of the games since the switch.

I have always said that we don't need three to CBs out there to contain the opponents in Serie A, most of the time we had Chiellini acting as an AM.

Even the stronger teams now have to worry about our counter attacks now, and not just isolate Higuain and pin us back.
