He really is a brilliant coach, changes formation and the way we play completely midseason and maintains the same level and even improves. Did that in 14/15 too. Best coach in the world

Or I can say he finally after 8 months during his third season and just when he couldn't use his favorite MF (Sturaro) he finds out a way to performance and we finally can see what's the game plan cuz so far only Max got It. Last game against Milán he didn't do the subs the game obviously was asking cuz he still is hesitating with a system he's trying to figure out so... He's finding the way but very far to be reliable this season. Hopefully a winning streaks give him the class he shows in the first season

Pjanic wasnt working well in the midfield. So he tried disco stu to offer the aggressiveness it required but that gave the other issue of sturaro beeing a weak as shit player in possession.


However, he worked further and came up with an oudacious 4231 that puts his most promising talent in a new role, had a weak central axis, required the main striker to work even harder and puts Mandzukic in an entirely new position

It worked. He took out the balls, and it worked. Suddenly the entire media forgets how we were shit and gonna fail and sings the praise over "radical new juve"



Thats all allegri peasant. He tries new things, adapts to new things. When it doesnt work, damage is limited. When it works, it explodes.

Let's just say Allegri managed to get this team to scrape its way through the first half of the season and the CL group stage, +4 in Serie A, and topping our CL group, and while it may not have been pretty, and we masked a lot of deficiencies in team set-up/formation/tactics/general gameplay with our game-changing players... he did manage to get the results necessary to start the season.

I don't really blame him for not wanting to shift formation and tactics to dramatically as he integrated new players into the side at the start of the season and through the CL group stage. I wish he had, but I understand why he didn't, as one never knows how such tactical shifts will work out, especially in the midst of trying to top a CL group... He created a lot of stress and anxiety for the team by persisting with 3-5-2, but in the end, no harm, no foul.

Kudos to him for using the winter break, and the mid-season CL-free spell to work on new tactics and a new formation, and having the stones to go all-in on it.

We had the players for the extremely succesfull 3-5-2. Normally should have been fine but we had big issues getting Pjanic to work. Allegri first tried all the options available. Regista, mezzala. Marchisio returned, which was as always beneficial for the team, but didnt solve Pjanic issue too much.

Allegri noticed we lacked muscle, so tried an greatly inferior player in the 3man midfield that was physically good. ALl the peasants forget, first tried in that role against Roma, he was quite good. Against Milan, he was again not bad but from there it went downhill


Having tried all the options, he unleached his new audacious formation and it worked.

We played 352 with Khedira Marchisio Pjanic. It didnt work the same way it did last season. We tried with Lemina, later Sturaro. We switched to 4312 and 4321 later, with Pjanic more advanced and it worked much better. Problem was we got too many injuries and at one point didnt have a single RB so we went back to 352 again and now he introduces a completely new system, while all this time we kept 1st place and won our group. Yeah he clearly was trying the same shit for 8 months and after he went to read tuz got this great idea to play 4231

It was not working, so we were first in serie a with a clear gap and winning the CL group with the formation on which the entire team is based that was so extremely succesfull before this season, and all the change was Pogba out, Pjanic and Higuain in.


What a madman that he didnt try all the options to see if he could make it work again first, and only then switch to an entire new formation we didnt had/have the players for.


A new formation that is not tested preseason, something coaches normally wont attempt cause players not used to it and not experienced with.



Allegri is amazing. Cause when he had to do it, he did it and made it immediatly work

We beat Fiorentina, Roma, Napoli, Lazio twice, Sevilla, Lyon. Clearly we were dropping points whenever we met a half decent opponent

We were scraping results mostly due to individual quality in the 3-5-2, which is fine by me, especially in the early stages of the season, and as I stated there, I understand entirely why Allegri was reluctant to tinker too much with formation and tactics during the vital early part of the season and CL group stage, when results are far more important than playing well.

I also said I'm happy he is using the midseason break and CL free time to experiment and work on new tactics and a formation that shall have us playing better, and set us up for hopefully good results against better teams in the CL and down the stretch in Serie A.

It's perfectly fine for me to wish he had done this a bit earlier. He didn't, I'm not too upset about it.

And for the record, I've always said Allegri is a world class coach.

What strange selections did you have in mind? If you mean Sturaro he was needed to balance the 4312/4321. As soon as we use a formation that doesent need to be balanced by him hes dropped. If you had other examples in mind please share.

The first one that comes to mind is Asamoah over Pjanic in te first homegame against Sevilla. Then there is picking Sturaro over Lemina. Playing either Khedira or Sturaro in the role that Pogba had the year before. Benching Cuadrado in a lot of games in the start of the season even though he was performing. But the main issue was trying to force players into a formation that no longer was right for the squad.
