This notion of an outright forward like Dybala being forced to be seen as capable winger in the minds of fans who are thinking in Fifa arcade mindset (skill and pace equals adaptable winger) starting to get extremely outplayed. Being able to roam to different zones of attacking third and being a skill full player does not make you suitable winger no matter how much you try to convince yourselves. Foolish to limit him like that, even if what you are referring to is inside forward its kinda silly.


Being as much winger as Ronaldo who majority of his career has been playing on both wings is just silly, he is an explosive winger who taught himself to become a roaming CF. And Messi is a text book nr 10, but he played for YEARS as outright wing forward for Barca before even having his massive breakout as false 9 with Pep.


Name any game Dybala has played winger full time? Only thing I can think of is one of the latest Argentina games and it was insanely retarded by the coach to play him there.

Dybala started out as a right winger. He played there the first couple of years he was in Palermo. Without knowing I would say there is a pretty good chance he played there all hes youth. And you are right both Messi and Ronaldo started as wingers but they dont play as wingers anymore. Both just have there starting position on the wings and I dont see it limit either.
You can call the position and formation what ever you want. The idea is to replace a CB with a winger/ AM and if pushing Dybala a little further left to make that happen I dont see a problem in that. At the moment we are getting results, but our overall play are ugly, and we lack chemestry and creativity. Dybala are almost always on the left side linking up with Khedira and Alves.
