Allegri: 'Juve feet on the ground'
By Football Italia staff

Max Allegri believes the scraped 1-0 record-breaking win over Genoa “reminded Juventus that there are no easy games.”

The Bianconeri remain two points off leaders Napoli thanks to a 13th consecutive Serie A victory, a new club record.

“It’s always difficult against Genoa because they are good at not letting you play,” the Coach told Mediaset Premium.

“Sunday’s 4-0 at Chievo created a lot of euphoria, but tonight our feet are back on the ground. This reminded us that there are no easy games.

“I am not interested in the record, as there are 15 rounds to go and we need to put together a certain number of victories, whether they are in a row or not is irrelevant.”

With Mario Mandzukic injured, Simone Zaza came off the bench and got himself sent off.

“I will have only two strikers at my disposal for the next game. Zaza is very eager and at times over-eager. He needs to relax, because when playing for a big club he must have balance. He needs to grow up, because these are mistakes he shouldn’t be making.” @Berardi

Martin Caceres was stretchered off in tears, while Patrice Evra also picked up a muscular problem.

“Caceres is an extraordinary lad and a great defender. Tomorrow we’ll see what the tests say, hopefully it’s less serious than he thinks.

“I am not worried by the injuries. Stefano Sturaro had a knock against Verona and I didn’t want to risk him. Kwadwo Asamoah will be back with the squad soon. Sami Khedira and Mandzukic have to be evaluated day by day.”
to me it sounds like Mandzu and Khedira could be fit just in time for the bayern game.

but fuck the Caceres injury. if it happened a little earlier Lemina could have taken his CL spot.

We play much more entertaining football under Allegri than we ever did under Conte
Not true.

I don't see it that way. There are just people with different tastes. There isn't only one right way to play football I think that is perfectly reflected by people liking different leagues.

It was the most pure form of antifootball. Take the ball, keep it and do nothing with it on purpose.
I liked very much when Inter eliminated them at their peak, and Bayern trashed them for good measure.

It is by far the worst thing that happened to football. When teams part the bus, they'll try to counter, and you are free to attack them. Barcelona takes the ball, so you cant do anything with it, and doesnt do anythign with it themselves. Pure antifootball.

So glad that a few organised teams decided to totally $#@! it, that they had to change to their current style.

:agree:

Pure cattanacio allows you to attack them, and they'll counter you.

Tiki taki is basically, we have the ball, we do nothing with it, you do nothing with it, everyone falls a sleep, pass to messi goal fpafapfapcum$#@! astronomical football messias zzzzzz

Catenaccio and Tiki Taka are equally horrible to watch.
Pretty much

He actually said Khedira and Mandzukic might even make it to Napoli game, so I'd assume there's a lot of hope for Bayern
Really? Sauce?

Napoli match is of bigger importance than the Bayern game.
If we already made up our minds to give up the UCL, yes.

The Bayern game is of massive importance to the image of Juve in europe and that will eventually affect big names wanting to join our ranks. A lot of people are thinking we got lucky last term reaching the final.

Why ?

But it has to be said,Allegri has a better group of attacking players to work with.
I personally find our style a lot more aesthetically pleasing under Allegri. Less "schemes" and repeated movements and more freedom for our attacking players. Conte's Juve from the first half of the 11/12 season played some sexy football TBH. And it's incredible that we played amazing football with a frontline of

Pepe - Matri - Vucinic

Our midfield was obviously world class and Pirlo was the best regista in the world too.

Why ?

But it has to be said,Allegri has a better group of attacking players to work with.
Conte was a rigid tactician in a sense that almost every movement and pass came from the training ground. But we played a high-intensity, proactive game under Conte. We attacked and didn't settle for a 1-0. And we had a higher possession %. Conte's game was more direct and faster. I think we lost the ball more often but won it back immediately. Conte played a defensive and counterattacking game only a handful of times (games vs Roma and Celtic come to mind), and they were to great effect.

Allegri is more pragmatic. We often begin closing a game down pretty early on in 2nd half when we have a 1-goal lead. He was happy to defend for over 2 hrs vs Monaco. And we don't try to maintain a high level of intensity for the duration of the game but rather in 10-min bursts (Mourinho does the same). Allegri relies more on patient build-up and is happy to cease possession of the ball more often esp when we're leading. Allegri also gives the attackers, particularly the SS, more freedom.

I prefer Allegri's pragmatic approach more now, but back then, Conte's approach was better for us, that's what was needed then. Fitness, being proactive, playing with high intensity, and playing for 90 mins became paramount under Conte. Before, we weren't as fit, we didn't look to dictate and dominate games as much, weren't as intense, and didn't maintain the intensity and sharpness for 90 mins (often became complacent after scoring - a very Italian thing to do as far as calcio is concerned). Conte turned it around and raised the mental and physical bars.

And yes, Allegri has a better team. Dybala, Morata, Alex Sandro, and Cuadrado are much easier on the eye compared to Quagliarella, Matri, Vucinic, De Ceglie, Giaccherini, Pepe.

Kudos. I doubt they'll be match-fit for Napoli, but they being in contention for that game means they'll likley be ready to go vs Bayern. Good news.

If we already made up our minds to give up the UCL, yes.

The Bayern game is of massive importance to the image of Juve in europe and that will eventually affect big names wanting to join our ranks. A lot of people are thinking we got lucky last term reaching the final.
Even if we don't win, the margin of defeat will surely be important. If it's another 0-2 and 2-0, that won't look good. But if we lose, say, on away goals, that'll look different.

Atleast when i watch cattenacio theres many brawl all over the pitch. Tiki taka all about drama, esp busquet, touched him a little, and he'll roll all over the pitch begging and nagging to ref.

Proactive game and didn't settle for 1-0?

What the fuck have I been watching back then? Those sexy passes between Bonucci and Chiello and endless one-twos between them, one-twos with Buffon... Conte's approach was to bore the opponent to death.

At first conte played really sexy football, but then he switched to the boring one, somewhere in the in the first half of the first season.

The roma game was a snoozefest as was the last game. Conte's team had so many aesthetically pleasing goals be it Pirlo through balls (to licht, marchisio or Giacherini) or long shots from Pogba. There were so many gems out there as well as boring grinded out results. I'd say both teams are about the same aesthetic level.

One big difference though is that Conte's team was a lot more frustrating because of how wasteful the attack was. I can't count the times I wanted to pull my hair out watching Vucinic, Matri or Quags waste easy chances. We create less now but we finish them chances with confidence.

We create less now ?

Wholeheartedly disagree..

I have even voiced my criticisms on the negatives of the current side. They are just not clinical enough. We waste too many chances.

I say this with conviction that Allegri's team create more chances than Conte's but part of the reason also has to do with fact that the team has better group of attackers like i mentioned in my above post.
