Yeah, I don't see playing 3-5-2 as a mistake.

Lazio chose to kill the game by simply matching up to Juve and neither side's individuals were able to assert themselves properly in the one-on-ones around the pitch to give an advantage one way or the other.

Given that the game was dead, there was no reason to think the odds weren't in Juve's favour given their superior individuals.

Not true.

I've never liked 3-5-2 as a system, but I could see the logic of Juve using it under Conte.

I merely accepted it was being used and didn't moan about it continuously the way many others did.

3-5-2 is fine for specific games here and there, but I'd never choose to have it as the default formation.

Seriously killing it this season. Could be historical in a weeks time. Bravo max!
Either way it's historical. He didn't just have a great season but it's on his first year taking over from a legendary coach and in a very unfriendly environment. We did have great luck in facing the teams we did up until Madrid but he even got the team to punch above its weight by beating real. No matter what happens this is a stand alone great season. Even if we were meeting real in the last 16 and barca in the quarters getting past Madrid is a great achievement especially that it didn't affect securing aerie a and the coppa. It being an actual CL final only adds to the achievement.

If he wins it then that should propel him to be amongst the all time greats

I love how deep he reads the game and knows exactly what he wants even if the team doesn't perform that well.
Every time he wins something, I have to remind myself what an idiot I was. I always thought he was tactically good, but had pussy mentality. I mistook his calmness for pussiness. I couldn't have been more wrong.
