To be fair, a lot of our players during Capello were past their prime. Nedved, Del Piero, Vieira etc. It was a pretty good team and we did play a bit ugly, but it wasn't as good as many Juve fans seem to think. Just look at our last season with Lippi, we were awful in all competitions. We could have reached the CL final in 2005 and win it, as we were in good form then, but we blew our chance against Liverpool.

Del Piero was Serie A topscorer two years after Capello left and won the World Cup the season Capello was his coach.

yeah Capello would have played with 3 defensive midfielders if he could. he should have done more with that squad. people easily forgot some things like his obsession with Zebina, always starting Zlatan ahead of Del Piero in 05/06, despite going like 11 or 12 matches without scoring, playing Mutu out wide, and his overall lack of tactical flexibility. Vieira and Emerson provided nothing in attack and when Nedved or Camoranesi had a bad day we were screwed.

Zlatan certainly wasn't neither was Trez, Del Piero was top goalscorer both in Serie B and A after crapello's departure, Camoranesi was still on top of his game, and that is before I even begin to mention the likes of Thuram, Cannavaro, Zambrotta and Emerson who were arguably one of the best if not the best players in their positions at the time. You only have to look at the number of Juve representatives in the Wc 2006 final to realise what a retarded statement that was

past it? not really perhaps not as good as he was the season or 2 before but certainly not past it. Vieira was quite decent up until xmas when he was hampered with injuries which affected his form

Vieira had a fantistic World Cup in 2006, he wasn't passed it. He passed it in my opinion during his Inter Milan season, and that was mostly due to him getting injured all the time.

Cappello is the full blame for our lack of success in Europe, people forget, we were the "Barcelona, the Bayern Munich etc" in those years, and we kept flopping. AC Milan would consistently do good, with an infirior team, even if that one was brilliant as well.

With that said, if we do get knocked out tomorrow, I hope we don't turn on Allegri

Don't agree. We had (arguably) the strongest squad in Europe at the time. It was a stacked team. We just underachieved big time in Europe with Capello at the helm. Those two losses to Liverpool and Arsenal were disgraceful.
