I don't mind keeping 3-5-2 as long as we have Cuadrado instead of Licht on the right next year.

I think 3-5-2 in theory is a great formation since you can load up either in midfield or defense with the wingbacks. It's just that you can't have guys like Lichtsteiner creating offense.

Honestly, we will never beat the rich CL elite playing their game, we need to do it playing a different way and that is why I actually still think 3-5-2 is the way to go with the proper signings.

I agree with you but I dont see that as having anything to do with the 90s. Buffon and Nedved are the only two people (staff and players) that has been here since 2003. Real madrid had a loser mentality until mourinho fixed it for them even though they had 9 CL titles so history does little for you its the current players and coach that make the difference.

We lack confidence in the CL and a formation change will do little to make that better. We are still extremely wasteful in attack (when those would have been goals in Serie A) and extremely erratic in defense gifting away 2 goals last match (again mistakes that rarely happen in serie A).

Last season when everyone was saying how unlucky we were to not get the points against madrid, nords and Galata, we played very good matches but were wasteful in attack and erratic in defense just like our two fixtures against olympiakos this year. The only match we played in the CL when we were really outplayed was against bayern 2 years ago.
