I always judge a formation based on how it looks when you set it up to defend. So whenever we could drop all 11 players into a certain shape, you always see 3-5-2.

In attack obviously Cuadrado does whatever he wants so yes it is an immense hybrid in attack.

It was sort of a hybrid, but leaning towards 4-3-3 or even 4-4-2.

___________Buffon
Barzagli Bonucci Chiellini
____________________Evra
___Khedira Hernanes Pogba
Cuadrado
______Dybala Morata

Is pretty accurate.
that formation is pretty risky though. When Cuadrado is up on attack and Evra joins an attack on the left, that will leave our defense open. Especially if Barzagli has to act as RB and cover for Cuadrado.

Hahah, im serious this time though jack. This formation basically is one. And it has a lot to do with Pogba trying to rediscover form from the left.

Thats what we've been playing and it's the idea of the hybrid though. In those cases Barzagli moves back to the almost invincible three in defence. Or he covers for Cuadrado anyway.

I need to see more consistency before I believe we're fully out of our slump. That Sevilla side just rolled over and gave up. We did show amazing fight to come back against Bologna though, so definitely on the right path.

Yeah I agree. I still am waiting to see us taking a game by the neck playing with authority with clear attacking moves that players are used to.

Pretty much. Allegri found a starting team, that's great.

Mandzukic will have to ride the bench, I really hope Allegri doesn't try to insert him in the lineup because of his status/salary, even though I don't think he did as poorly in the past games as people say. I thought he was fine in build up. But of course Morata should be the starting CF (that was clear all along), and Dybala fits way better with him. Moving our best CF and our team's current best player out of position for Mandzukic is senseless.

Insert Marchisio in for Hernanes and that's our starting 11. Much more balanced midfield with Marchisio - Khedira - Pogba. I want to see Alex Sandro gaining ground to offer some attacking on the left, but right now Evra has to start, he's in great shape.

Backup team:

________Neto
Licht Caceres Rugani Alex Sandro
________Lemina
____Hernanes Sturaro (Asamoah)
________Pereyra
____Zaza Mandzukic

Manzukic is clearly the immediate substitute of either Dybala or Morata, Pereyra to replace Cuadrado or Dybala, Lemina as Marchisio substitute, Hernanes as Khedira/Pogba replacement.

Looks good. Zaza still out of place when Mandzukic returns though. We still need another offensive option on the bench as an AM/SS/winger, a RB to replace Licht, a CB to replace Caceres (should be sold). Then I believe we are set.

Anyway, there are 3 guys so far who were very pleasant surprises to me. These guys give the team balance. That's Lemina (to a lesser extent, since his position is covered - but potential is amazing. He can become a world class DM in the world, definitely); and mainly Cuadrado, inserted on the first games, and Khedira, inserted the past 2 games.

Cuadrado and Khedira are giving a huge boost to this team. With Marchisio's return, things should look better.

It makes absolute sense to switch between Dybala and Mandzukic

Dybala should get plenty of games, but shouldnt get exhausted. Like what happened to el kebab

Furthermore, Mandzukic in a good form will score many vital goals

Mandzukic is the Llorente replacement. He's our third-choice striker. Allegri eased Dybala into the starting XI just like he took his time with Morata last season.

Tired of this guy out-thinking himself when it comes to squad selection.

Zaza over Dybala, in a game of this magnitude, is a joke. Unless Paulo is hurt or something, this is just silly.
