we also had Tevez, Vidal and Pirlo last season
True. We had one of the best midfields in Europe with 3 true leaders (Marchisio, Vidal, Pirlo) and it was our biggest strength over others, and now we don't even have tge best midfield in Italy, and Pogba is no leader. But i believe they will improve

Pereyra better than Pjanic  :sergio:

their midfield is strong and close to ours in
terms of quality, attack and defence are not bad either.

with our injury problems you CAN lose against them, it is just the how that bothers me.
It is really a shame how much people on this forum underestimate Pereyra. The guy had big problems with his end product in the first half of last season and now he is considered some kind of punchline for a joke even though he is an excellent player especially in the CM role.
As a TQ I would take Pjanic over Pereyra. Pjanic has great vision and are able to dictate play which is extremely important in that position. As a B2B midfielder I would take Pereyra over Pjanic. The guy has fantastic acceleration that allows him to bypass a couple of players and create dangerous situation. He also has great tecnic a great engine and aggression to his game that Pjanic does not have. Even his end product seemed to get a lot better at the end of last season and the beginning of this season. I like Pjanic as a player but I think he is seriously overrated on this forum. For me he is not a WC player and I don’t think he has developed much in the last 3 years whereas Pereyra is getting better game by game.

Pjanic and NaingDolan would start for us.

Pjanic because he is a AM - something we dont have.
and NaingDolan, no matter how much you hate him, would
start over khedira anyday.

The most alarming thing is that we still dont know which will be our main formation.

Right now, we look like a team in pre-season, while the season is long under way.

Yep, Allegri is in a tough spot. He has talent, but this talent is based on young players who will either have to assume new large roles on the team (Pogba, Morata, Pereyra, with Pogba already struggling) or new guys who just came in (Dybala, have to see Lemina).

His job is to carry this transition as smooth as possible, assure new and young guys.

We don't have natural players for no scheme right now (433 lacks LW, 4231 lacks LW and AM, 4312 lacks AM, 352 lacks RWB - Cuadrado is probably not one, 442 is not really used anymore in football as midfield gets too thin).

So just keep 4312, improvise Pereyra/Hernanes/Dybala as an AM.

Go with Morata and Dybala as starters. Morata deserves to be a starter from last season, Dybala meshes better with him than with Mandzukic, we need Dybalas characteristics. Just do the basic stuff. Forget fucking 352, specially with Evra and Padoin on the team.

Go with:

-------------------Buffon----------------------------

Licht-------Bonucci------------Chiellini-----Alex Sandro

-------------------Marchisio---------------------------

--------Hernanes--------------------Pogba-------------

-------------------Pereyra-----------------------------

-------------Dybala------------------------------------

---------------------Morata----------------------------

If Dybala offers what he can, will be in good shape.

Bench: Neto, Caceres, Barzagli, Rugani, Evra, Lemina, Sturaro, Mandzukic, Zaza.

Not considering Padoin, Asa, Khedira.

We definitely need more in the bench, have no good options. Coman would have been important for that.

But this is the best starting 11 we have IMO.

Allegri is finding himself in the same spot Conte did where it's hard to trust the players and make deviations from comfortable tactical setups after achieving such great results.

But we can't use the 3-5-2 as a crutch anymore. We don't have Tevez who was a match winner. I don't care what position the battle is for, Pereyra should beat Padoin for all of them. I'd rather play him at fucking DM than Padoin. Just get the good players on the field and trust them to play.

Come on Max.

Cuadrado should be a starter whatever formation we are planning to play.

Still think the 4-3-3 is the best suitabe for this team, wish we had signed Draxler or at least kept Coman.

The formation looks good , though I think this will restrict Pogba's forward movement as he needs to support Marchi defensively, seeing that Hernanes is more inclined to attack.
But then since you are not considering Khedira, i guess it makes sense. Otherwise i would place him instead next to Marchi and push Hernanes up.
On the other hand , you forgot Cuadrado as an option from the bench. Its nice to see him to come in to give pace and width from the bench late on the game.

Remember how long it took Nando to adjust to Serie A?

I'm willing to bet Mandz takes just as long if not longer.

There is ZERO reason as to why Morata isn't being the centerpiece of this offense.

Llorente taking a while to play regularly was more to do with him basically missing the previous season and Conte having a very specific way of playing that had to be learned.

These factors aren't in play for Mandzukic, so he needs to contribute sooner.

Missing pre-season and needing to build up fitness is quite a good reason for Morata not starting yet.

We should do good with this. Pogba needs to step down a little and take thngs slowly. I would prefer hernanes to get the baton of going forward from now on. My first option was pogba...but he seems too shocked to be carrying the 10, that he can just play like he used to. Pogba needs to calm down and concentrate

At this point...i prefer 10 out of 10 times to start with morata dybala before having to see madzukic pulling a llorente once again. Mandzu better sort himself out...as he was suppposedly going to be much better than llorente right off the bat.
