Conte's an egotistical, narcissistic, treasonous loser. The fact he had no more motivation to continue with this club, because he thought he had won all that was possible with the squad we have, is such a pathetic mentality.
He's a club legend, sure. I defended him all last year, and said he would come back motivated to prove himself in Europe this year, and then he jumps ship, citing motivation, and acts like this squad had reached its absolute maximum potential, as though our players were mediocre and could never hope to compete for a CL title. COnte basically belittled our squad, our management, and our ambition as a club, and said we were too small a club to compete with the European giants, demeaning and disrespecting our stature as one of those giants.
If he had left respectfully in May, without demeaning and disrespecting this club and its fantastic management, I'd be fine with him leaving. Instead, he did the exact opposite and is a complete disgrace in my books. I hope Max wins the CL, and our coach, our management and players all hold up 10 euro bills in celebration. $#@! Conte.
the only thing i blame Conte for was that away Copenhagen game and the home game vs Benfica. this has been said a lot of time probably, but if you take a look at our 6 group stage games last season, you see that we played on equal with Real over 2 games (you could argue we were the better team in both games even), we were trailing by Galata at home but then played a great game and showed excellent mentality to overturn that game (too bad for that last minute goal). the Copenhagen games were bad by us, but atleast we won the home game. the away i already said above, we had to win that game, we needed a different/better approach. Galata away i shouldnt even mention, that all was a big fiasco. if that game was played the night it should be, im 100% sure we would atleast draw and no one would make Conte out to be a failure in Europe. see how he made mistakes in preparations for some games but he still got chances to make up for that, and he would dome it under normal conditions. the other thing i blame him for was the Benfica game, he should have gone all in and more offensive much earlier, especially considering they were a man down. but all coaches make wrong decisions (except EuroMaxx
Conte actually was the one that wanted Morata here, he was highly pushing for Iturbe (after Berardi decided to stay) - faster, more pacey players. you can see he realized what he lacked the year before, and wanted to create a new team. after he decided to leave in May (after 3 tiresome and emotionally/motivationaly very demanding seasons), the management tried to convince him to stay. the idea of creating a new, more modern Juve with younger players probably excited him so he decided to sign a new contract. what happened next is Marotta didnt want to sign Iturbe on his agents terms (rightfully so), Moratas transfer was in question too around that time (we were negotiationg the buy back clause), and Conte probably felt disappointed. he already decided in May he couldnt go through a season again with the same squad, system and players (since he was emotionally empty for such a task), and after his new project failed, there wasnt much he could do. though i think it was wrong how and when he left, i can perfectly well understand why he did it, and how he felt at the time.
i could never hate the guy. he was our captain before, then he became our coach. i wish him the best wherever he goes (except for the disgusting clubs of this world) and may he continue winning titles, as long as it is not on our cost. he helped this club revive from the dead, im enormously thankful for that, but we as a club moved on since and are on our way to the very best clubs around with fantastic players and a fantastic coach. thats all
