CL nights under Allegri's first reign entertained me and therefore they stood out in comparison. At some point that was Allegri's biggest flaw. He was great at creating plans for spectacular comebacks. I mean, who on Earth puts Lichtsteiner on when you need a goal the way he did against Tottenham? But he always fucked up at first and got us in situations we should never have been in.

the away game was great, it felt like we showed our true potential there, that if we're not scared and play balls out from minute 1, we could pin back and beat anyone in Europe. looking back at that team some players feel underrated, f.e. Matuidi, who that summer was an influential player for France winning the WC, that guy could run.

however that game feels like a stark contrast to the half-assed football we played for most of that season in CL.
