Very well prepared game, our first half was great.

Second half, despite Simeone's tactical changes allowed athletico to play better, juve was holding very easely, so he chose not to change the team.
Understandable, i'd probably do the same.

Only argument is wether licht should have been subbed as he was getting tired. Too late at the goal

And then after that he was racing down that line again, wich renders this argument useless

I liked his approach to the game, we executed a perfect first half were we really intimidated Atletico players and Tiago should have gotten a yellow card or two way before Marchisio got his card.

To think we needed a change, Atletico piled up pressure in the last 3 minutes of the first without causing any harm and continued to do so in the opening minutes of the second. We were able to suck up all the pressure and there was no need for subs. Allegri wouldn't have subbed these players had we not conceeded, instead he would have kept the shape and the game plan but he reacted fast and he took out a defender for a midfielder, then a midfielder for a forward and then all out attack.

I agree with everything you said except the bolded part. Llorente shoudl have been subbed at half-time and thats it. The fact that Llorente played the whole 90 minutes goes against all football logic. I cant forgive Allegri for this. Fucking pissed me off....

It worked in creating chances
Do you remember Conte's games against good defensive units like Bayern? Thank you.

:agree: A few minutes after he came on he found himself in acres of space running towards goal. Too bad Tevez(?) couldn't spot him.
He also threaded a brilliant pass to Licht for the chance which almost resulted in an own goal.

Good player.

I almost feel good losing like this under allegri....than having to hear that bald poser saying we have no star players, that we are outsiders and all that 7th place yadda.

Damnit feels so good. Almost like a victory

Because Galata and Copenhagen are on the same level as Atletico.
well Conte earned a respectable point at home to the eventual winners last season....

and no we wouldn't lose to galatasaray because they have a bigger idiot in prandelli in charge

- - - Updated - - -

those late subs were just ridiculous... only thing was missing was subbing on padoin to put the cherry on the cake

You can fault Allegri for his late subs, but nothing else really. And i'm starting to wonder if there's some ridiculous behind the scenes crap going on concerning our policy with substitutions.

Managers at the top level know so, so much more than us yet I can't fathom any reasonable excuse for this. It's not a very complicated situation

Your current XI are not threatening whatsoever, you've given them long enough to show something. Yet they don't. You have bench players ready, who can change the game and offer you something different. They even have the advantage of being fresh.

So why? Why consistently bring new players on at the very end of the game? It's stupid, it's just plain stupid.
