First of all - this has been a trend of his all season, not just tonight. You can't treat players with 5-10 minute cameos all season and then also have the excuse of 'who was he supposed to bring on'. This is a guy that had balls to play Sturaro at fucking Bernabeu, now suddenly Kean, Pellegrini and Bernardeschi are where we draw the line. Kean was scoring CL KO goals last season, now he can't play more than 5 minutes over two legs against fucking Villarreal. Berna was playing very well before this recent injury, he had big games before, now he can't get more than a desperate sub? Dybala at his peak was getting subbed off early, but now Morata and Vlahović are irreplaceable?

Second of all - did you shit your pants when Moreno and Coquelin came on? Did you think oh fuck now we will have problems? No, but in tight games anyone can make a difference and the point is to do everything you can, no matter how unlikely it seems. Not to be resigned before it is over and say fuck it I have no one, let's watch them beat us instead
I know you like Kean but honestly take off the blinkers. He can play as long as he wants but he is not an improvement on Morata or Vlahovic, even when tired. Playing for PSG with Neymar, Mbappe, Di Maria and Verratti is very different.

You've hit the nail on the head with Berna he was playing well "before his injury". How many appearances has he had since? He looked very poor on his return in his last game.

Morata and Vlahovic are not irreplaceable but they are better than the options on the bench.

I actually did think to myself with each Villarreal sub that they were good moves. I was even thinking Moreno could get a goal.He got 30 goals last season and has a 12 in 20 record this season.

Allegri:I would play it the same way, as the lads did well for 65 minutes. At a certain point, Villarreal put everyone in defence and only an incident could break that deadlock,” Allegri told Amazon Prime Italia.
"We have to accept this defeat, it’s ugly, but I cannot complain about the lads, as they played well.”

I know plenty of our players are sub par but you don't need a 2 billion pound team to fucking play positive football.

If Allegri had Villarreal's shit team instead would we look any different? I doubt it
guess what, villarreal played an allegri type of match, defending deep, and countering whenever they had a chance. emery was more allegri tonight than max himself.

also, the first half was the most positive football we played for a while. unlucky for the lack of goals.

last 20 minutes were a disgrace.

There's other things a coach can do to help his team win aside from making subs. Adjusting your tactics to exploit your opponent is one. Max had plenty of time to prepare for the most important game of the season. He just didn't do anything until it was too late. In the second half tonight he was content soaking up pressure with a few sterile attacking moves mixed in before going to penalties, similar to the way we went out to Inter in the Supercoppa. He thought he would get away with playing not to lose instead of going for the win.

Evra:“It feels like Max Allegri is performing miracles with what he’s got, because there is no quality there, especially in midfield. In my day, we had Claudio Marchisio, Arturo Vidal, Andrea Pirlo. Now there’s Arthur… I don’t think he made a single pass that really changed play today. He doesn’t make the difference.”

I don’t think we should sack him at this point. No point now. But people need to realise this is the same frustrating allegro who got sacked, but with a squad he can use an excuse isn’t his. He is no longer EuroMaxx.

In no order nor preference.

Poch. Conte. Zidane. Emery. Gasperini. Ten Hag. Pirlo. Landucci. Tudor. Mancini. Inzaghi. Deschamps. As a start.

Zidane lost semis and lost league to Atletico. Carlo is 10p clear by march with same squad. Last season proved Zidane first era was somewhat of a fluke. Zidane magic didnt work.
I'd gladly take a fluke that wins 3 consecutive CL titles over a savant who has overseen a 4-1 final capitulation, a 4-0 obliteration, and an utter 3-0 humiliation at home against a bunch of provincial fags from Spain.

Bro Villarreal won 3-0 without playing positive football, winning football is all that matters.
I'm speaking generally.

And the "winning is all that matters" thing is great and all except when you consistently play like you're scared of the ball you tend to lose in the long run anyway.

How many teams have shithoused their way to a CL in the last 20 years.

Chelsea maybe. And...?

Not that I'd ever expect this team to make it past the last 8 but we'll never go much further without an identity.

miracle is a stretch, but yeah, evra is spot on with everything else.

Juventus should have been playing much, much aggresive, with proper coach this squad would have destroyed Villarreal, Pellegrini - De Ligt - Rugani - Danilo all can play in high defensive line with high pressing, Morata - Vlahovic - Cuadrado trident would have much more dangerous if only they had a support on the wings, instead this imbecile went with 352 and insha'Allah that some cross will turn into a goal :sergio:
Pellegrini gets destroyed form Serie D players, no thanks.
