We aren't going to lose to Dortmund. If we lose to them, and on penalties I'd be fucking pissed. Going out to a superior rival like Madrid or Bayern is fine by me, as long as we give it our all.

Exactly why it's an interesting thought... The guy everybody hated and still hates bringing us to a level we haven't been to for more than a decade. So what happens then? How would the Juventini treat him?
Bringing us far doesn't equate to winning a title now, does it? ;)

Moreover, it really depends on where we end up in Serie A. A semi final appearance and 3'rd place in the league wouldn't constitute a successful campaign, at least not by recent standards.

A semi in CL, final in Coppa and 2nd place in the league, would that be succesful season? We went far everywhere but no title. I would consider that an OK season, but without League win or CL title(which is impossible I think) a season cannot be considered a success imo. Even a Coppa win would not make it success just a nice consolation prize.

IMO it is if we're talking about group stages.

I think way too many people underrate Allegri as a coach. Way too much.

And that's coming from me.
That has more to do with our overall mentality in europe. We won't reach the last 16 for certain. We dont even know the groups yet. We have the squad to do so but if they can performe in europe is another story

We need to be extremely lucky with the draw to make a deep run in the CL.
My 4 sure bets already for the semis are Bayern,Barca,Madrid and Chelsea. And this discounting really strong teams like PSG,City and Dortmund.
We'd ideally need an Atletico-esque draw of last season.

Pretty much. If we were to get to the QF and draw one of Barcelona, Bayern or Real Madrid we simply wouldn't be expected to win, and you could probably add another 2-3 teams we would be underdogs with.

Basically if you go out you want to go out without regrets or shame.
