Prime Del Piero would have scored 25-30 goals in current Serie A. Serie A defenses were a lot tougher between 1993-2006 than today. Current bunch of defenders arent comparable to the likes of Baresi, Maldini, Nesta, Cannavaro, Thuram, Montero, Sensini, etc... 34 yo DP was a top scorer in Serie A ffs. We have the best defense in the league, but take Chiellini out and can you say with a straight face that Bonucci, Rugani would stop DP, his twist n turns... he would have run circles around them.
25-30????? Cmon man Serie A is shit now, he'd hit close to 40 no doubt

Ronaldo’s got 19 goals in 26 league matches. That’s 28 goals over the full 38 matches in his first season in serie a, as a 34 year old. He also has 8 assists which would likely be 12 in a full slate of matches.

Regardless, 19 goals-8 assists in 26 matches is great, even more so when playing in a side that goes into cruise control every time we are up 1-0.

Don’t think I could agree with you there. If you realised, nowadays referees blow foul for something as light as a tap and VAR.

Serie A defence were not better. It was just alot more lenient of rough plays.

Montero maldini etc. would probably commit tons of foul, or just decide to hold back if they play in modern times.

If Del Piero plays in Serie A now, he will probably win us countless fouls. Which is what Dybala does now.

If we lost today which is a strong maybe...because of our defenders ... still you want to blame him? If so what he should do right to aviode as we cant predict our defence now...
Lets wait and see. I want to see what max can pull off this game.

Ill say beforehand, if the mentality is right and we lose because of a bonu/ruga brainfart, ill not complain.

As long as we show marbles and score an away goal we should be fine. What i dont want to see is panic juve defending 90 mins for no reason

yes panic Juve defending for 90 mins in ECL is one of Max's specialty. Followed by his usual course of 'I got the tactics right, but the players wrong' interview after the game.

sadly with Zidane back to Madrid I don't see anyone capable enough to sub Allegri as Juventus coach...
Unless Andrea Agnelli goes berserk and pull out a Klopp or Guardiola

We couldnt handle Atalanta with this defence , let alone Ajax ...

I feel the outcome will not be good tomorrow but i hope Allegri cover this new blow with pure innovation like how he did with Can

What about Ancelotti? That guy can handle stars and is flexible enough to let star players shine
Ancelotti is past his prime. When was the last time he came up with a tactical masterclass? 2014 against Bayern is the last time I can recall.

It's an eyesore, and the game hasn't even started.

Just the usual suspects though.

grow a pair people please. We are still the favorites to win this game by a huge margin. Ajax is very, very vulnerable in the back. They are a nice attacking team, but so often these good attacking Dutch teams are neutralized by a good and organized defense (and yes we have one if we want). Its not Messi and his crew we are facing. We will heavily outmuscle them and I can see us score at least a couple.

It isnt even close in terms of quality. Serie A arguably was at its peak and besides Chiellini there arent any defenders comparable to the likes I mentioned before. Besides that, if defenders were only more rough then imagine Del Piero today with his moves. Because he had amazing technique on the ball and was quick off the mark in his prime. Better than Dybala in almost every aspect of the game. When he would get a ball close to the box, something would come out of it, assist, goal or good opportunity for his teammate. Dybala is a very good player but falls short in direct comparison. He isnt as skillful, his weak foot is pretty bad, slower than Alex with and without ball, etc...
