But what can a player like Caceres gain from Cannavaro that the coaches can't provide him? I mean sure, if he plays with Cannavaro he may pick up some things, but in all honesty it's not much. And all of this is absurd if Canna is a detriment to the team anyway.
I'm not so sure he will. We have seen Cannavaro and Chiellini together before the Azzurri, and I must say they don't seem to be learning much from one another.
Well, that is true, Cannavaro has experience. But so did fucking Montero with Legrottaglie, and we ended up seeing how well that defense worked out under Lippi.
No offense but all this talk just seems like BS to me. Buffon is the guy who directs the defense anyway.

sebastian giovinco is a tremendous talent and will (hopefully) progress to be a fantastic player. on the training field he will learn a hell of a lot from del piero and trezeguet,as senior statesmen of teh club they will happily show a young emerging talent tips and give them advice.
now trezeguet will probably not play a lot next season and he may not actually get much playing time alongside giovinco but his experience, professionalism and pedigree cannot help but rub off on a talented young player such as Giovinco
when i say that canna will be a good teacher to the otehr defenders this is what i mean. i do not expect him to take training, work on set pieces or even direct the defense, what i am saying is that simply by working alongside younger defenders everyday he will ahve a positive effect on them
