Giuseppe Marotta has hit out at claims made by Cagliari president Massimo Cellino concerning the venue of tonight’s clash with the Rossoblu.
Speaking after the final whistle, the Juventus director said: “I’d like to remind people that we are the visitors and the Lega Serie A decided to move the game to Parma. It’s incredible that we’ve played Cagliari at two different venues in the past couple of years.
“It’s not down to us, but the clubs, in this case Cagliari, who evidently lack the organisational capacity to make up for such shortcomings. We received the decision from the Lega Serie A, which said that the game would be played at a neutral venue, and we’ve merely respected it.
“The Lega Serie A organises the championship and should assume a position. I don’t want to create disagreements, but we’ve got nothing to do with it. Perhaps we would have had more fans in Cagliari than in Parma but regardless we want to win on the pitch, on any pitch.
“Cagliari did not ask for our view regarding the possibility of playing the game at Is Arenas and it wouldn’t have been down to us to decide. We complied with the decision of the Lega Serie A.”
