Mandzuuu is loveee

He will be 32 soon, his workrate has already decreased visibly compared to last season and it will only decrease with age. We've also bought two wingers in the summer who are younger, faster and more technically gifted than Mario.

So enjoy it while you can.

This is not Mario bashing, this is just me recognizing that it's against the best interest of the team to play a technically limited workhorse on the wings. Natural wingers will always be preferred in the end because that's the winning formula.
You're judge him a a natural winger, but you don't look to the other side what he brings and other wingers don't:
- more defensive contribution
- Strenght / target man from goalkicks (great for build up)
- Holding the ball in a counter attack (also slows it down sometimes to be honest)
- Great second header on the second post (most winger are not)
- Basic, what makes him so good with left-back (overlapping each other)
- Big match player
- Insane workrate

If Dybala starts as striker, I don't have any problem with Mandzukic on the left wing as he naturally drifts inside. But Max has said that he doesn't see Dybala as a striker, which means that every time Mandzukic starts on the left wing, we have both Higuain and Mandzukic up top. Then we become pedestrian and predictable in attack because we have two sluggish forwards who rely entirely on service and almost never create chances by themselves.
